Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort & Spa appoints new general manager

Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort and Spa announces the appointment of Mr Daniele Vastolo as its new general manager.
Mr Vastolo has worked in the tourism hospitality industry for 16 years in Africa, Europe, Malaysia and the Philippines. He joined the Shangri-La group six years ago and has previously worked at the Shangri-La hotels and resorts in Kuala Lumpur, Cebu and Boracay in the Philippines and the Seychelles.
Mr Vastolo is multi lingual, and besides his mother tongue Italian, he is fluent in English and French and is a scuba diving and sailing enthusiast.
On his appointment to Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort and Spa, Mr Vastolo said he was very much looking forward to the richness of working in a new culture.
“I have worked in culturally diverse places and I enjoy learning about new communitites and the Shangri-La has had a long-standing relationship with the community here,” Mr Vastolo said.
“Fiji is a well known destination and the Shangri-La has had a presence here for a long time and I look forward to learning and finding ways of maximizing our presence in Fiji and in our source markets.”
Mr Vastolo replaces Mr David Hopcroft, who has moved to the Shangri-La Hotel, New Delhi, India recently.
