Real Resorts: Where Safety Comes First (Mexico)

Each year millions of visitors come to Mexico and enjoy a wonderful vacation and the hospitality of the Mexican people. Although there have been recent reports of security and safety issues, we want to remind our guests and travel industry partners that the overwhelming majority of visitors who come to Mexico enjoy our beaches, our beautiful attractions, excellent shopping and restaurants, and of course our fabulous weather -- returning home safely and rested from a great vacation.

In fact, a recent survey of tourists who visited Cancun and the Mayan Rivera shows that 96% of guests traveling to these popular tourist destinations felt safe during their trip and 100% felt safe while at their resort.

At Real Resorts the safety and well being of our guests is our number one priority. While we respect the international coverage about Mexico, we would like to remind our visitors and travel industry partners that the popular tourist areas of Cancun, the Riviera Maya which includes Playa del Carmen are literally a thousand miles from the border towns where reports of violence have taken place. The majority of recent media reports have not clarified the distance between border communities and major tourist destinations, leading to confusion and unnecessary concern among travelers. To help explain this miscommunication and provide up-to-date tourism information, Real Resorts has added a map and safety information to its website at www.RealResorts.com/safetyupdate.

Real Resorts would again like to remind our visitors that Mexico is a hospitable country with a warm and welcoming culture.
