No Horsing Around
“Can I have a pony? Please? I promise to take care of him!” If you're a parent, chances are you've heard this familiar refrain. For most of us, purchasing a pony isn't an option; at least not without taking out a second mortgage or moving to the country.
Thankfully, Four Seasons Hotel Hampshire is here to make children's wishes come true ... at least for a day. Forget Mister Ed and Black Beauty. Introducing Chocolate and Minnie, the stars of the “Own a Pony Day” experience.
Guests aged 7 to 16 can adopt one of these young colts from the Hotel's on-site equestrian centre. They'll not only get to ride their new four-legged friend, they'll experience firsthand the work that goes into caring for them. This includes cleaning the tack (the saddle, bridle, halter and other things the horse “wears” so you can ride it), feeding it, picking the hoof to remove debris and brushing the mane over and over again until it gleams.
