The Omni Charlottesville Hotel has completed the finishing touches on the $3.5 million renovation of its 208 guest rooms and suites. The new décor, designed by Jillian Van Dresser of the Van Dresser Company, offers guests an authentic blend of Virginia’s unique genteel hospitality with all of today’s modern luxuries.

Van Dresser created a serene environment using neutral but rich fabrics and colors and by choosing pieces that give the hotel a contemporary feel with a nod to the area’s history. The newly remodeled guest rooms also feature a throw from the Andrew Morgan Collection, which approaches design by “combining modern and organic influences.” Furnishings for the guest rooms were all domestically made and in some cases, regionally made. Hallway artwork includes pieces by Virginia artists, scenes of Virginia including Thomas Jefferson’s home, Monticello, and authentic postcards from Michie Tavern.

The luxury hotel boasts a seven-story atrium and garden, setting the ultimate stage for relaxing or dining, while the hotel’s décor hints at the rich history of Virginia. Quiet warmth exudes from custom-designed mahogany furnishings and overstuffed chairs, while modern-day luxury reveals itself in sleek Italian marble floors. Other recent renovations include the lobby and 12,000 square feet of meeting space, completed in 2007.
