Prince Inaugurated 2 Most Significant Hotels in Mauritius: Four Seasons & Movenpick Hotels, $250 million investment value
HRH Prince Alwaleed bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Alsaud, Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) was on a visit to the Republic of Mauritius arriving at the capital Port Louis on Monday 25th May 2009. Prince Alwaleed was accompanied by his spouse HH Princess Ameerah Altaweel, Vice Chairman of Alwaleed bin Talal Foundation and a delegation from Kingdom Holding.
The Prince was warmly welcomed by the President and people of the Mauritius and met with President, HE Sir Anerood Jugnauth. HRH and the President discussed the bi-lateral social and economic relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Mauritius. Furthermore, the discussions also revolved around Prince Alwaleed's investments in the country in hotel sector and other investment opportunities there. Moreover, HE Sir Jugnauth said that his government warmly welcomes the Prince to further invest in Mauritius.
Also during the visit His Highness met with Mr. Navin Ramgoolam Mauritian Prime Minister and Mr. Xavier Luc Duval, the Vice Prime Minister, and other top officials from government.
In conclusion to the trip, Prince Alwaleed inaugurated the most significant two hotels with a value of $250 million: Four Seasons Hotel & Golf Resort in Mauritius, one of Kingdom Holdings investments through Kingdom Hotel Investments (KHI) with ownership of 50% in the hotel, in addition to the Movenpick Hotel which is also owned through KHI, with ownership of 100%.
