The lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer are brighter in Victoria. Butchart Gardens is world famous for spectacular gardens and now extravagant firework displays light the skies on Saturday nights from July 4th through September 5th. Watch the pyrotechnic marvels from the lawn, then enjoy a recital from a rare Aeolian Pipe Organ, or stroll through the illuminated flower bed paths to the Waterwheel Square and listen to live acoustic guitar music.

Victoria is renowned as the ‘City of Gardens’. The Magnolia Hotel, infused with European elegance, is the perfect compliment to garden strolling get-a-ways. Guest rooms feature downtown or harbour views, and a two-poster bed dressed in deluxe duvets, feather pillows, and crisp linens, which are turned down nightly. Luxury is reflected throughout, with marble clad bathrooms, a deep soaker tub and separate glassed in showers.

The Magnolia’s Victorian Garden Package visits unique private gardens developed by locals. It includes a night at the Magnolia Hotel & Spa in a superior guest room with turndown service, continental breakfast, and four hours with a guide (including transportation to the gardens) for two adults plus admission to the The Doris Page, Four Seasons and the Jewel Box Gardens. Rates are from Cdn. $399.00 (about US$361).

Garden harmony flows through Spa Magnolia’s oasis of tranquility where therapies are infused with locally harvested flowers. Every treatment is customized to the individual’s specific needs using the power of touch, the cornerstone of Aveda spa philosophy.

The Prime Steakhouse & Lounge, adjacent to the Magnolia’s lobby, is a steak lover’s paradise, with six cuts of steak gracing the menu. They also offer lamb, a selection of fresh seafood, poultry, pasta – and Prime Rib on Friday and Saturday.

The Magnolia Hotel & Spa, with only 64 rooms, offers an unsurpassed commitment to helpful, responsive, and attentive service. Professional, courteous staff has become the unquestioned hallmark. The hotel is centrally located just steps away from Victoria’s picturesque Inner Harbour and the city’s best shops, galleries and entertainment. Repeatedly recognized by Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ as one of the top hotels in Canada, the Magnolia caters to business and leisure travelers, along with their pets.
