In addition to swimming, biking and running at the inaugural Lavaman Keauhou Triathlon on September 13, 2009, the Keauhou Beach Resort invites participants, their families and friends to stay at this beautiful oceanfront property for only $109 per night, per room, single/double occupancy. The rate includes a complimentary self-service breakfast buffet each morning. Participants can come early to acclimate to the course and stay late to re-energize after what is sure to be an exciting and challenging competition.
Keauhou Beach Resort will also be the venue of the Lavaman Keauhou Expo on Sunday, September 13, that will include sport product and sponsor booths and race day packets. LavaKids will take center stage the day prior on Saturday, September 12, with fun events and a special LavaKids Dash for keiki 7 and under.
Hawaii Sports Connection, which also produces the annual Lavaman Waikoloa, is introducing this new Olympic distance triathlon and invites elite triathletes, age groupers of all levels and relay teams to participate. The two-lap course through Keauhou Resort will include a 1.5k swim, 40k bike ride and 10k run, with a number of vantage points where spectators can cheer on the athletes.
The Keauhou Beach Resort is a popular island retreat located on prime oceanfront acreage, adjacent to tide pools sheltering sea turtles and reef fish, and just next door to Kahaluu Bay Beach Park, one of the island’s most popular snorkeling beaches.
