Burlingame hotel nets California's highest green lodging designation.

The Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport hotel was recently awarded the prestigious Leadership Level Award in the California Green Lodging Program. The award is given only to hotels who pass a field test for their outstanding commitment to reducing environmental impacts in the entire operation of the hotel.

The California Green Lodging Program was developed, in part, to help the hospitality industry minimize their waste, conserve energy and natural resources, and to provide the industry with practical, real-world suggestions for sustainability practices that will improve their bottom line. The Program also provides well-deserved recognition for those facilities doing their part to help to keep California green.

The Burlingame hotel achieved the Leadership Level, the highest level of program participation. Leadership Level winners have a written environmental policy and place and meet all seven of the program criterion, in areas including waste minimization, refuse/recycling, energy efficiency, conservation and management, waste management, freshwater resource management, hazardous materials management and environmentally and socially sensitive purchasing policies.
