DESCRIPTION
Dakota Mountain Lodge & Golden Door Spa is the first ski-in, ski-out resort added to The Waldorf Astoria Collection. The property boasts luxury accommodations; a Golden Door Spa; the award-winning Spruce Restaurant; meeting space; pools and a kids’ camp. Outdoor patios with fire pits and heated pools and whirlpools give guests areas of relaxation for use year-round. An 18-hole golf course is planned for development in 2010.
DESIGN
The resort’s architecture and furnishings are outfitted by Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams, offering unparalleled luxury in Park City.
ACCOMMODATIONS
The property’s 175 luxury guestrooms are appointed with custom designed furniture and carpeting, natural colors and rich interiors to create a casual yet elegant atmosphere. Available in king or queen rooms to a four-bedroom, multi-floor suite, rooms are fitted with a fireplace, 42” HDTV, spacious bath and steam shower, and private patio or balcony. Suites offer a large gourmet kitchen featuring Viking appliances and granite countertops. The Presidential Suite is a 6-bedroom suite with a great room, master bedroom, private den, and more, and very spacious at more than 5,000 square feet.
DINING
Dakota Mountain Lodge & Golden Door Spa will be the first outpost of the award-winning Spruce Restaurant of San Francisco. Named one of Travel & Leisure’s Top 50 Restaurants, and a best new restaurant by Esquire in 2008, Spruce is a sophisticated restaurant offering seasonally inspired, Contemporary American cuisine created by Executive Chef Mark Sullivan. The 5,000 square foot restaurant will have 140 seats with indoor and seasonal outdoor seating, private dining areas and a lounge, all with sweeping views of the surrounding Wasatch Mountain
Range. The restaurant will offer an unparalleled wine and spirits program, including handcrafted cocktails and an extensive wine list of more than 1,400 wines from vineyards around the world. Other dining outlets will include a gourmet coffee bar as well as a poolside pavilion offering grilled and light fare.
THE SPA
The Golden Door Spa, one of only six Golden Door Spas in the world, will be housed in the Dakota Mountain Lodge. The 16,000-square-foot facility will include 15 treatment rooms featuring signature Golden Door offerings as well as a full-service hair and nail salon. A custom designed fitness center will offer an extensive menu of fitness classes, including cardio, yoga, meditation, stretching, Pilates, Kinesis, and resistance training. A leader in the destination spa industry for 50 years, Golden Door Spa will offer guests can revel in a daily spa treatment, or transform themselves during a destination program for 2-7 days. Water rituals, tea and fireside lounges and innovative therapies create a true destination for the novice and experienced spagoer alike.
EVENT FACILITIES
The property will offer executive inspired meeting space with boardrooms fitted with the latest technology.
