The spa professionals at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn are proud to introduce a seasonally- inspired autumn pumpkin facial. The 60-minute pumpkin enzyme facial is available through November 30, 2009 and priced at $179.

Pumpkin products offer enzymes and antioxidants that act like alpha-hydroxy acids, but rather than stripping the skin of unwanted materials, pumpkin replenishes the skin with nutrients. Pumpkin reportedly contains more than 100 beneficial nutrients, which may help reverse the signs of aging. Mary Low, Assistant Director of Spa Operations shares, “Pumpkin is a wonderful fruit acid enzyme as well as an exfoliation accelerator. In addition to the fruit’s powerful antioxidant properties, it is also successfully used as a mild retinoic acid. Pumpkin contains beta-carotene and ascorbic acid which combat oxidative free radical damage. This signature treatment softens the appearance of fine lines, improves texture and pliability and helps lighten hyper-pigmentation.”

The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa’s elegant 40,000 square foot spa, built on the historic site first revered by Native American Indians for its healing waters, is one of the only spa resorts in the United States with its own source of natural thermal mineral water, which flows 1,100 feet directly beneath the Inn at 135 degrees. The Spa pays homage to the Native Americans who first discovered the Sonoma waters, as well as ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman civilizations, which believed in the axiom ‘Sanitas per Aquas,’ or healing through water. Beautifully designed with many amenities to promote health, relaxation, and rejuvenation, the spa’s atmosphere is one of sensual luxury. A wood-burning fireplace complements the lounge. Resting rooms, the loggia, and a healthful snack bar make a full day at the spa a comfortable opportunity for guests.

Renowned for natural mineral waters, unparalleled charm and gracious service, The Fairmont Sonoma Mission Inn & Spa, is located 40 miles north of the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge at 100 Boyes Blvd. in Sonoma Valley, the heart of Northern California’s wine country. A recipient of both the AAA-Four Diamond and Mobil-Four Star Award, the resort consistently provides the country’s finest European spa experience.
