Windstar Also in Top 100 List of Conde Nast Traveller's 'Best the Travel World Has to Offer'

Windstar Cruises, which operates a three-ship fleet of luxury yachts that explore hidden harbors and secluded coves of the world's most treasured destinations, won a 2009 Conde Nast Traveller Readers' Travel Award in the category of "Cruise Line: Small Ships."

Conde Nast Traveller, the magazine for Britain's most discerning travelers, also acknowledged Windstar as the best in the small ship category for ambience/decor and service/staff. Windstar was only one of six cruise lines making the prestigious 2009 Conde Nast Traveller's list of the "Top 100 of the Best the Travel World has to Offer" showcasing the best travel experiences in the world.

Diane Moore, President of Windstar Cruises, received the award at the Conde Nast Traveller Awards Ceremony at The Royal Institution of Great Britain in London. "We are thrilled that the readers of Conde Nast Traveller selected Windstar Cruises for this honor," said Moore. "It validates our mission of delivering experiences on board our beautiful ships that are exemplary and exceed guest expectations."

Readers of the U.K. magazine voted for their favorite airlines, airports, business hotels, cities, countries, islands, overseas leisure hotels, spas, tour operators, trains, cruises, UK leisure hotels and villa rental companies in the twelfth annual travel awards. Questionnaires were inserted in copies of the April 2009 issue of the magazine and posted on-line at www.cntraveller.com for the same period. Readers voted and the results were calculated by an independent market-research company. Criteria in the cruise category included ambience/decor, child friendliness, environmental friendliness, facilities/activities, food/restaurants, itinerary/variety of destinations, nightlife/entertainment, service/staff, standard comfort of cabins and value for money.

All winners are featured in Conde Nast Traveller's October issue on newsstands now which can also be accessed at http://www.cntraveller.com/ReadersAwards/2009/.

In addition to the Conde Nast Traveller's Readers' Travel Award, Windstar has been recognized by other notable names in the travel world this year. Celebrated Living, American Airlines' prestigious publication for first class passengers, named Windstar Cruises "Best Small-Ship/Mid-Ship Cruise Line" on their 2009 Platinum List for the third time in a row. Windstar has also earned top honors in Travel + Leisure's "World's 2009 Best Awards," was lauded among "The World's Best Small Ships" by Conde Nast Traveler and was selected as one of Modern Bride's "Favorite Cruise Lines for Honeymooners."
