Pan Pacific Hotels Group is proud to announce that Pan Pacific Kuala Lumpur International Airport and Pan Pacific Singapore have won top honours in the World Travel Awards 2009.
Based in Singapore, Pan Pacific Hotels Group owns, manages and/or markets over 30 hotels, resorts and serviced suites with over 10,000 rooms in Asia and North America including those under development. The Group comprises two acclaimed brands: Pan Pacific® and PARKROYAL®.
An annual travel awards recognising the best in the industry and hailed as the ‘Oscars’ of the global travel and tourism industry, the World Travel Awards is now in its 16th year. This year, 183,000 travel professionals in over 160 countries worldwide participated in the voting process to decide the 'best of the best' in travel.
At the World Travel Awards Grand Final staged at the Grosvenor House in London on 8 November, Pan Pacific Kuala Lumpur International Airport was named Asia’s Leading Airport Hotel and the World’s Leading Airport Hotel for a second consecutive year. In addition, Pan Pacific Singapore was recognised as Asia’s Leading Business Hotel for the fourth consecutive year and World’s Leading Business Hotel for the third year running.
“It is heartening for our hotels to receive such great accolades once again – this is strong testament that the work we are putting into our brand and our hotels to continuously meet and exceed customer expectations is vital,” said A. Patrick Imbardelli, President and CEO of Pan Pacific Hotels Group. “Winning travel awards and accolades such as these are important for increasing the imprint of our brands amongst a global audience and will no doubt support our expansion plans to extend our Pan Pacific brand footprint in North America and across Asia.”
Five of Pan Pacific Hotels Group’s hotels were also recognised in the recent Conde Nast Traveler’s Reader’s Choice Awards. These include Pan Pacific Manila in the Top Hotels in Asia category; Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside Hotel and Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre in the Top Resorts in Canada category; Pan Pacific Vancouver in the Top Hotels in Canada category and Mauna Lani Bay Hotel & Bungalows in the Top Resorts in Hawaii category.
