Meliá Hotels & Resorts, flagship brand of Sol Meliá, the leading hotel company in Spain and Latin America, reiterates its commitment to the development of quality tourism in central Europe.

A few days after the celebration of Spanish week at LuxExpo, the Spanish hotel company Sol Meliá, the world’s largest resort chain and the 17th largest hotel company in the world, yesterday invited 300 of the leading personalities on the Luxembourg social scene to welcome the new Meliá Luxembourg hotel.

The newly-opened 4-star hotel is located in the heart of the city, at the centre of the triangular Place de l' Europe. Situated directly opposite the Luxemburg Congress Centre and in close proximity to many EU institutions, Mudam and the Philharmonie Luxembourg, the hotel is an ideal choice for both business and leisure travellers. The hotel’s design is also triangular itself, a gem of contemporary architecture within the Luxembourg City skyline, which was opened in May 2009, designed by renowned architect Jim Clemens

Design, emotions, the latest trends…all these concepts can be applied to this new stage in the life of a hotel conceived to be a great example of modern European architecture. This harmonious universe providing guests with new experiences every day of their stay has also become a flagship for the new Meliá brand image, the new Meliá Essence.

With spectacular views of the city, the hotel provides 161 elegant, modern and comfortable rooms, as well as a great range of facilities characteristic of the excellent services expected of Meliá Hotels. The rooms are all perfectly equipped with the latest hospitality technology, including king size beds with mattresses made exclusively for Meliá Hotels and an extensive pillow menu. The hotel also offers a Grand Suite on the top floor, with a private salon and a unique panoramic view of the old city of Luxembourg, classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

THE LEVEL services offer our exclusive guests extra comfort during their stay at the hotel, such as a private lounge with complimentary light food and beverage. Of course, the guests have access to the internet, newspapers and private meeting rooms.

The Meliá Luxembourg offers two restaurants. Serving contemporary Italian cuisine, AQUA will delight guests with modern dishes à la carte and has a summer terrace and unbeatable views of the Philharmonie Hall. GOYA boasts an international cuisine, with cooked breakfast and business lunch or Sunday brunch with amazing views over the city and the Mudam. The stylish and sophisticated bar is the ideal rendezvous to enjoy a favourite beverage.

For more comfort, the hotel offers complimentary access to the SPA, including the state-of-the-art gym, the Sauna and the Turkish steam bath. But if you’re thinking of holding EVENTS in Luxembourg, this Meliá hotel is the ideal meeting point with its 185m2 space for conferences and other events, with a capacity of 150 people.

The Meliá Luxembourg is thus destined to become a point of reference for the hotel industry in this city, a place where guests may enjoy the finest service and a great range of sensorial experiences to make their stay a truly unforgettable experience for both business and leisure travellers.

Meliá Hotels and resorts is in a state of constant growth, with this opening extending its luxurious urban hotel network to the heart of the European Union. Sol Meliá has recently inaugurated new flagship hotels in several Spanish cities and also in Germany (Dresden, Dusseldorf, Berlin) Bulgaria, Denmark, Greece and China (Gran Meliá Shanghai).
