John Segreti, who had been the Chief Operating officer of the New York Palace, died of a massive heart attack in February, at age 52. Prior to coming home to New York to run the Palace, Segreti had a fast-track career with Shangri-La in Asia, culminating with a position of Chief Operating Officer, based at Shangri-La's Hong Kong Headquarters. A former football player, Segreti started his hospitality career as Health Club Manager at New York's United Nations Plaza.



Pete Sears has been promoted to Senior Vice President, Field Operations for Hyatt Hotels Corporation based in Chicago. Most recently, Sears was General Manager of the Hyatt Regency San Francisco and previously the General Manager of the Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort & Spa.



Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has promoted James McBride to Regional Vice President in addition to his current duties as Managing Director of the Carlyle. McBride's region includes Little Dix Bay and Santa Fe's Inn of the Anasazi. McBride came to New York from the Grosvenor House in London where he was the General Manager, following a career with Ritz-Carlton in Boston, San Francisco, Hawaii, Singapore, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Washington DC.



Jay Rosenthal Has been appointed Executive Vice President and Chief Operation Officer at Midamerica Development based in Chicago. Rosenthal had been with Starwood since 1997 as General Manager of the W Lakeshore in Chicago and the W San Francisco.



John Caparella, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Gaylord Palms Resort and Convention Center, has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President of Gaylord Hotels. Caparella joined the company in 2000 in Orlando.



Laurent Fraticelli has been appointed Vice President Hospitality at Avi Brosh's Santa Monica-based Palisades Development Group. He will be responsible for launching the Lincoln, a 250-room lifestyle hotel in Los Angeles, as well as four locations for Pali House, a mixed-use concept featuring boutique extended-stay hotels and luxury turnkey condominiums. Each Pali House will have its own restaurant and lounge. Fraticelli, a Lausanne graduate, comes from the Standard Miami, a property he opened as General Manager after serving in the same capacity at the Standard Hollywood and the Standard Downtown LA.



Rich Maradik has joined Gaylord Hotels as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer. Prior to joining the Company, he was a co-founder and the Chief Executive Officer of SmartDM.



J. David Greydanus has been named Senior Vice President - Brand Management for the Waldorf=Astoria Collection. Greydanus was most recently Senior Vice President - Brand Management for Embassy Suites Hotels and has been involved in the hospitality business for twenty five years, fifteen of which with Hilton/Promus/Doubletree.



Barbara Lopez has been appointed General Manager of South Beach Miami's Sagamore taking over from Fred de Roode who is retiring.



Alan Campey is rejoining Rosewood at the newly acquired Cordevalle as General Manager. Campey was most recently the Chief Assets Officer for EBR Holdings and has previously been with Keystone Advisors in Santa Barbara and AGC Management in Dallas. He was Rosewood's Vice President Sales and Marketing in the eighties. Until it was taken over by Rosewood, Cordevalle was operated by Auberge Resorts.



Jean-Francois Gatti takes over from Campbell Black as the General Manager of the InterContinental Mark Hopkins San Francisco. Gatti hails from the Intercontinental Montreal, where his successor is Gilles Hervieux. Hervieux transfers from Chicago where he was the Manager of the Crowne Plaza Allerton. He also served at the Hotel Inter-Continental Chicago.



Doug Housley has transferred to the Four Seasons San Francisco as General Manager replacing the now retired Stan Bromley. He comes from the Four Seasons Hotel Cairo where his successor is Randy Shimabuku. Housley has been with Four Seasons since 1979.



Steven Parker is the General Manager of Baltimore's InterContinental Harbor Court. A senior man with InterContinental, he comes from the Steven F. Austin InterContinental and previously served the company in Shanghai, Taipei, Turkey and Abidjan. Parker also worked for Shangri-La in Malaysia and Singapore.


Norm Theoret has been promoted to General Manager at the Wyndham Chicago. Theoret was previously the Hotel Manager at the hotel.


Scott Dawson has been named General Manager of the Jumeirah Essex House. Dawson has been with InterContinental since 1991 in Chicago, Uzbekistan and most recently as General Manager in New Orleans.



Ken Dittrich has transferred to the Paradisus Puerto Rico as Managing Director. Dittrich most recently ran the Paradisus Riviera Cancun.



Jacqueline Volkart has transferred to the Ritz-Carlton New York Battery Park as General Manager. Volkart was most recently the Hotel Manager at the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne following ten years in various positions at the Ritz-Carlton Cancun.



Michael Hoe-Knudsen is the new General Manager of the 524 Holiday Inn SunSpree All Inclusive Resort in Jamaica. Hoe-Knudsen, a Cornell graduate, was most recently the Hotel Manager at the InterContinental Caracas and previously worked for InterContinental Hotels in Rio, Miami, the Mark Hopkins InterContinental San Francisco and the Barclay InterContinental in New York.


Patrick Finet has transferred to the Mandarin Oriental Riviera Maya in Mexico as General Manager, taking over from Albert Mertz, who has left the company. Finet was most recently the opening General Manager at the Mandarin Oriental Chiang Mai. He also ran the Prince Maurice, the K-Club and Manapany.



Jan Goessing has transferred to the Mandarin Oriental Washington DC as General Manager replacing Darrel Sheaffer. Goessing was most recently the General Manager at the former Kahala Mandarin Oriental and has been with the company since 1994.



Henny Schaeffer has been named General Manager of the Hotel Astor in Miami Beach. Schaeffer was the Director of Residences at the Ritz-Carlton Coconut Grove and previously ran the Sonesta Hotel & Suites also in Coconut Grove.



Reginald Archambault is the new Resident Manager at the Hotel Bel-Air. Archambault was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Aviara.

Tracy Marks has been promoted from Hotel Manager to General Manager at the Hilton Portland. Marks started his hospitality career with Hilton as Beverage Manager at the Washington Hilton & Tower and has been with the company for twenty three years at eight properties across the country.



Federico Echaiz has joined Las Ventanas al Paraiso as Resort Manager. He was most recently the Corporate Director of Food and Beverage for PLH Consulting in Cancun. Echaiz was previously the Executive Assistant Manager Director of Food and Beverage at the Ritz-Carlton Santiago, the Hyatt Regency Santiago and the Park Hyatt Mendoza & Regency Casino Mendoza in Argentina.



Joe Faust has been appointed Vice President of Development for Los Angeles based SBE Entertainment. Faust previously served many years in development for Hyatt Hotels, based in Chicago.



Rancho Bernardo Inn has appointed Stanley Kaminski Assistant General Manager. Kaminski moves into the new position from his role as Vice President of Food and Beverage for J.C. Resorts, the parent company of Rancho Bernardo Inn.



Scott Hammons has joined the Ian Schrager Company as Project Manager. Hammons was previously the Director of Housekeeping at the Park Hyatt Washington, following several years in Rooms Operations and Project Management with Kimpton.



Robert Rechtermann has transferred from the Ritz-Carlton Boston to the Ritz-Carlton Boston Common as Director of Operations. Rechtermann also served as Executive Assistant Manager at the Hilton at Short Hills and Director of Food and Beverage at the Regency in New York.



Philip Gay has been promoted with Grill Concepts to Chief Executive Officer from Chief Financial Officer. Previously, Gay held CFO posts at both Wolfgang Puck Food Co. and California Pizza Kitchen. He is a former Managing Director of the advisory firm Triple Enterprises in Dallas.



Benchmark Hospitality has appointed Robert Zappatelli to the newly created position of Vice President of Food and Beverage. Zappatelli previously held the dual roles of General Manager for the Founders Inn in Virginia Beach and Corporate Food and Beverage Director for Benchmark Hospitality.


Brooke Gardner is transferring to the Four Seasons Westlake Village from the Four Seasons Beverly Hills as Director of Food and Beverage. Gardner has been with Four Seasons for over sixteen years in Atlanta, Dallas and Beverly Hills.



Simon Fricker has been appointed Director of Food and Beverage at the Peninsula New York taking over from another Lausanne grad, Gérald Feurer. Fricker was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage at the Hotel Baur au Lac in Zurich and previously held food and beverage management positions at the Westin Boston Copley Place and the St. Regis New York. As for Gérald Feurer, he is now the General Manager of Pier Sixty Six for Abigail Kirsch Catering.



Garrett Ronan is the new Director of Food and Beverage at the Beverly Hilton. Ronan was most recently in the same position at the Boston Harbor Hotel and previously served as Assistant Director of Food and Beverage at the Waldorf=Astoria.



Fredrik Nyborg has been appointed Director of Food and Beverage at the Boca Raton Resort and Club. He was most recently the Director of Operations at the Sol Melia Paradisus in Puerto Rico. Nyborg also served as Food and Beverage Director at the Sofitel Chicago Water Tower and the Adam's Mark Buffalo.



Ramon Arrau has been appointed Food and Beverage Director at the Grenada Grand Beach Resort. He was most recently the Director of Food and Beverage of the Lodge Kura Hulanda and Beach Club in Curacao.



The Pink Shell Beach Resort & Spa has appointed Christopher Lee Owens as Food and Beverage Director. Owens was previously the Director of Restaurants at the Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa.



Mark Eberwein has been promoted to Food and Beverage Director at the Rancho Bernardo Inn. Eberwein began his career at the Inn as a Maitre d' at El Bizcocho and was most recently Director of Banquets.



The MGM Grand has assembled the management team that will oversee Food and Beverage operations at The Signature at MGM, formerly known as The Residences at MGM; Heinz Horvath promoted from the Beverage Department to Director of Food and Beverage previously at the Westin Casuarina; Blayne Yamamoto promoted from Room Service to General Manager of In-suite Dining previously a Food and Beverage Manager at The Mirage; Kurt Umehara a former Manager of Dining Services at Craftsteak, becomes the Director of Beverage for the Signature.



Mauricio Manrique has been named Financial Controller at the Inn of the Anasazi. Manrique has previously been with the Bristol, Little Dix Bay and Acqualina, all sister properties of Rosewood's Inn of the Anasazi.



Vic Kungli has been named Controller for Cheyenne Mountain Resort in Colorado Springs. He most recently held a similar same position at the Garden of the Gods Club of Colorado Springs.


Millennium Hotels and Resorts North America has appointed Dennis Carew Global Director of Group Sales based in Washington, DC. Carew joins Millennium from InterContinental Hotels where he was a Key Account Director.



Millennium Hotels and Resorts North America has appointed David Johnson to Director of Sales and Catering Information, North America based in New York City. Johnson was most recently a client services business consultant for Newmarket International.



Jeanine Korm Glendon has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for the Churchill Hotel in Washington, DC. Glendon joins from the SAS Corporation in Tysons Corner, where she served as the Executive Director for the real estate holding company and export trading business. Prior to that, she was the Associate Director of Sales at the Ritz-Carlton Tyson's Corner.



Dana Ortega has joined the Inn of the Anasazi as Director of Sales and Marketing. Ortega was most recently at Team Plus Management Group where she held the position of Regional Director of Sales and Marketing overseeing both the Inn of the Governors and the Sage Inn both in Santa Fe.



Joshua Brown has been promoted from Director of Sales to Director of Sales and Marketing at the Chattanoogan. Brown was previously in sales at Lajitas, the Ultimate Hideout, Omni Hotels, Hilton Hotels, Four Seasons and Rosewood.



Kevin Herbst has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing at the Eldorado Hotel and Spa in Santa Fe replacing Ray Bustamante, interim Director of Sales and Marketing, who will return to his regional role for Tishman Hotels in Los Angeles. Herbst has held several positions for Westin and Hyatt, most recently as the Associate Director of Sales at the Hyatt Regency Tamaya.

Jason Prost is transferring to the Four Seasons Westlake Village as Sales Manager. Prost has been with the Four Seasons Beverly Hills for ten years, most recently as Group Sales Manager.


Francis Purvey has been appointed Director of Sales and Marketing for both the Radisson Aruba Resort & Casino and the Radisson St. Martin Resort & Spa, slated to open December. Purvey was most recently the Director of Sales and Marketing at the Bahia Mar Beach Resort in Fort Lauderdale.


Kylie Hallinan has transferred to the Four Seasons Palm Beach as Director of Human Resources. She was most recently the Assistant Director of Human Resources at the Four Seasons Philadelphia. In Palm Beach, she replaces Shelly Komitor who is now the Senior Vice President of Corporate Resources for the Las Olas Company of Fort Lauderdale, following fifteen years with Four Seasons in Palm Beach and New York.


Bruce Clifton has been appointed Director of Human Resources at the Scottsdale Resort and Conference Center. Clifton was most recently the Assistant Director of Human Resources at the Arizona Biltmore. He previously held the position of Director of Human Resources at the Timberline Lodge.



Donna Romano has transferred to the Four Seasons Houston from the Four Seasons Hualalai as Director of Human Resources. Romano was previously the Assistant Director of Human Resources at the Four Seasons Newport Beach. She replaces Stacey Coppel who has transferred to the Four Seasons Washington DC.



Lisa Marie Smith has been appointed Director of Human Resources at Le Méridien Beverly Hills. Smith has been with Starwood since 1998 as the Director of Human Resources at the Westin Century Plaza, the W Los Angeles, the W San Francisco and most recently at the St. Regis Monarch Beach.



Jadd Elkeshen has joined the Four Seasons Jackson Hole as Director of Rooms. Elkeshen was previously at the Hotel del Coronado, the Claremont Resort and Spa and the Ritz-Carlton San Francisco.



McCrady's Restaurant in Charleston has appointed Sean Brock as its new Executive Chef. Brock was most recently the Executive Chef at the Hermitage Hotel and its fine dining restaurant The Capitol Grille.



Eric Damidot has been named Executive Chef at Las Vegas' Paris Hotel and Casino and Bally's Hotel and Casino. Damidot was most recently the Executive Chef at the Ritz-Carlton Atlanta. He also toiled in the kitchens of the Palais de La Méditerranée in Nice, the Rio and Bellagio in Las Vegas.



Christian Gradnitzer has been named Executive Chef at the Jumeirah Essex House. Gradnitzer was most recently the Executive Sous Chef at the Burj al Arab, Jumeirah's flagship property in Dubai.



Peter Rudolph has joined Campton Place as Executive Chef replacing Daniel Humm. Rudolph was most recently Chef de Cuisine at Navio at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay.



Joseph Oldham has transferred to the Four Seasons Houston as Executive Chef replacing Paul Wade. A long-time Four Seasons employee, Oldham was most recently the Executive Chef of the Regent Singapore.


Morgan Wilson is the new Executive Chef at the Toronto Marriott Eaton Centre Downtown Hotel. Wilson was most recently at the Marriott Pinnacle Hotel Vancouver.

KC Fazel has accepted the Executive Chef position at Las Vegas' Luxor Steakhouse. He had previously been at the MGM Grand where he opened Craftsteak as the Executive Sous Chef and manned the grills at the Brown Derby.



Martin Rios has been named Executive Chef at the Inn of the Anasazi where he will be responsible for the relaunch of its restaurant. For the past eight years, Rios was the Executive Chef for The Old House at the Eldorado Hotel, where his successor is Paul Wade.



Patrice Caillaud has been named Executive Pastry Chef at the Mandarin-Oriental New York. He comes from the Ritz-Carlton Lake Las Vegas and previously ran the pastry kitchens at Lespinasse, the Bellagio and Patisserie Payard in New York.



Michael Owens has been named Head Pastry Chef at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach joining his former colleague, Bill Bracken, the Executive Chef. Owens was most recently the Pastry Chef at the Peninsula Beverly Hills.



Jason Etzkin has transferred to the Park Hyatt Philadelphia from the Park Hyatt Los Angeles as Pastry Chef. Etzkin was previously at the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay.



Cornell graduate Marc Bromley has been promoted to Director of Restaurants at the Peninsula Chicago where he was previously the Lobby Restaurant Manager. Prior to Chicago, he spent four years at the Peninsula Beverly Hills where he was most recently the Director of Restaurants.



Wine director Jason Alexander at Cyrus in Healdsburg will be leaving to return to San Francisco as Wine Director of Gary Danko where he worked for four years as an Assistant Sommelier. He will be replaced by Jim Rollston who was Wine Director at the Farmhouse Inn in Forestville.

Jeffrey Stivers has been named General Manager of Yi Cuisine in Los Angeles. Stivers comes from Cicada where he held various roles over the years. He was previously with Drakes Venice, Moomba in West Hollywood and Mélisse in Santa Monica.



Barbara Stirewalt has been named Spa Director at the Spa at Mohonk Mountain House. Stirewalt, a Cornell graduate, most recently served as Spa Director of the Wintergarden Spa and Fitness Center at the Wintergreen Resort in Virginia.





EUROPE



At the Maybourne Hotel Group, the search is on for both a Chief Operating Officer and a Chief Executive Officer, as CEO Geraldine McKenna is stepping down as of March 31 with the intention to move to her villa on the French Riviera.



Starwood has appointed Michael Wale Senior Vice President, Le Méridien Operations. Wale will continue as Regional Director of Operations, Northwest Europe for Starwood based in London. He joined what was then ITT Sheraton in 1978, as the Company's first Management Trainee in the UK, at the Sheraton Skyline Hotel at Heathrow.



Rank Group PLC in London has appointed Ian Burke to succeed Mike Smith as Chief Executive. Burke was most recently the Chief Executive of Holmes Place Health and Fitness. Smith, who joined the company in 1990 and has been at the helm for the past seven years, is stepping down in accordance with the company's retirement policy.



The Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group has appointed Liam Lambert as Operations Director, Europe. Lambert has spent the past five years as General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London and was previously the General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong from 1995 to 2000 having joined the Group in 1991 as General Manager of the Excelsior, also in Hong Kong.



Sylvain Ercoli has been appointed General Manager of Claridge's, taking the post left vacant when Michael Hoffmann left London to become the Regional Managing Director of Blackstone's Luxury Resorts, based at the Boulders. Ercoli was most recently the Regional Managing Director at the Hotel Martinez in Cannes and has spent time as General Manager of Le Byblos in St. Tropez and Le Saint Géran in Mauritius.



Michel Serrano is the new General Manager of the Concorde Lafayette in Paris. He replaces Jean-Marc de Margerie a member of the Taittinger family and a Lausanne graduate. Serrano, previously with Accor, will also be in charge of luxury hotels in Paris for the group.



Christoph Mares has been appointed General Manager of the Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park London. Mares joined Mandarin Oriental in 2000 as Resident Manager at the London property and after two years in the role, took on General Manager positions for the Group in Munich and at Paris' Royal-Monceau.



Thomas Lause has been promoted to General Manager of the four Azalea Hotels in Jelsa, Croatia. Lause most recently served as the General Manager for the Azalea Hotel Zora in Primosten, Croatia. Beat Meier replaces Lause as General Manager in Zora. Meier was previously the Hotel Manager for various Sandals properties in the Caribbean.



Michel Chertouh has transferred as General Manager to the InterContinental Mar Menor Golf Resort in Spain. Chertouh was most recently the General Manager of the InterContinental Sao Paulo. He previously served at the Crowne Plaza Sao Paulo, the InterContinental Rio de Janeiro and the InterContinental Miami.



Eric Lepleux joins Accor as Executive Vice President, Hotel Marketing. Lepleux has been with Singapore Airlines since 1996 in various positions most recently as Regional General Manager.



Brice Kemper has been appointed Rooms Division Manager at the Hotel du Cap Eden Roc. Kemper was most recently at the Vista Palace as Operations Manager and previously at the Grand Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat as Rooms Division Manager. He also worked at the Peninsula New York as Front Office Manager.



The Hard Rock Hotel in Madrid has named Raœl Palomo Sales and Marketing Manager. He has worked with Hoteles Catalonia, AC Hotels, Hesperia Hotels and most recently with NH Hotels in Rumania.



Jérome Fernandes has been named Executive Chef at the Marriott Druids Glen Hotel & Country Club in Ireland. He was most recently the Executive Sous Chef at Sol Kerzner's Atlantis in the Bahamas.



Hilary Tolman has been appointed Vice President US Operations by Gordon Ramsay Holdings in London. Tolman was previously the Executive Assistant to Daniel Boulud.





ASIA AND THE PACIFIC



Stephen Ford has been named Vice President, Area Managing Director for Starwood Hotels & Resorts in New Delhi. He was most recently the Area Managing Director for Starwood in Indonesia. Prior to joining Starwood, he worked in management positions with Shangri-La, Southern Sun and Zimbabwe Sun.



Ed Hubennette has been transferred by Marriott International from South East Asia to Hawaii as Area Vice President.



John Blanco is the new General Manager at the Kahala Resort. Blanco was most recently at the helm of the (Ritz-Carlton) Penha Longa in Portugal and has held various food and beverage management positions at Esperanza, the Ritz-Carlton Key Biscayne, the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead and the Four Seasons Wailea.



Tom Roelens has been promoted to General Manager of the Four Seasons Kuda Huraa after joining in November as Resort Manager. Roelens has been with Four Seasons in Newport Beach and Jakarta.



Llewellyn Wyeth has been named General Manager of the Mercure Hotel Melbourne and will have the added responsibility of Area Manager. Wyeth was previously the General Manager at the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort.



Robbert Van der Maas has transferred to the Four Seasons Landaa Giraavaru in the Maldives, as General Manager. He was previously with Hyatt International for thirteen years, including seven years as General Manager of the Grand Hyatt Bali.


Armando Kraenzlin has transferred to the Four Seasons Mumbai as pre-opening General Manager. Kraenzlin was most recently the General Manager at the Four Seasons Kuda Huraa. Prior to joining Four Seasons, Kraenzlin briefly served with Movenpick in Hong Kong, following several years with Mandarin Oriental.



Dianne Morgan has been appointed General Manager of the Mercure Hotel Earlington Launceston. Dianne joined Accor in 1997 at the Sofitel Melbourne before taking up the position of Executive Assistant Manager at the Novotel St Kilda.



Francois Cnockaert has been named General Manager of the Hotel Mulia Senayan in Jakarta. He was most recently the Managing Director for Colony Capital in Japan following a stint as General Manager at the Swissôtel Nankai and the Hotel Lotte in Seoul. Cnockaert also served with Ritz-Carlton for eight years.



Frank Beck returns to familiar territory as he takes up the role of General Manager at the Sheraton Laguna Nusa Dua, Bali. Beck was most recently the General Manager at the Sheraton Senggigi Beach Resort for three years prior to his most recent posting for two years as General Manager at the Westin Chosun in Seoul.



Tim Lee returns to Hawaii to join the Kahala Resort as Hotel Manager. He spent the past six years as Resident Manager at the Beverly Hills Hotel and was previously with Halekulani Hotels and Resorts.



Sanjog Modgil has been promoted to Executive Assistant Manager of the Amari Atrium Hotel in Bangkok. Modgil was previously the Director of Food and Beverage at the hotel.



The Fullerton in Singapore has appointed Cecilia Chia as the Director of Human Resources. She was previously the Director of Human Resources at the Ritz-Carlton Millenia Singapore.



Rosa Lei has been named Director of Sales and Marketing at the Raffles Beijing. She had previously worked with Hyatt, InterContinental, Shangri-La and Marco Polo. Prior to joining Raffles, she was the Director of Sales and Marketing of the Marco Polo Xiamen and Director of Conventions at the Shangri-La Kerry Centre in Beijing.



The InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong has appointed Sandra Tang as Director of Catering and Conferences. Tang joins from the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong where she held the position of Director of Sales – Conferences, Meetings and Banquets.



The Sheraton Laguna Nusa Dua in Bali has appointed Nick Porter to head its Sales and Marketing Department taking over from Janet McNab. In addition, Porter will assume the responsibilities of Assistant Executive Manager. He comes from the Sheraton Perdana Resort where he was the Director of Sales and Marketing and has worked for Starwood since 2000.



Claudio Rossi has transferred to the Regent Singapore as Executive Chef replacing Joseph Oldham. Rossi was most recently in the same position at the Four Seasons Chiang Mai.



Dietmar Spitzer is the new Executive Chef at the Conrad Bangkok. He came from the Repulse Bay in Hong Kong and previously was the Executive Chef for Banyan Tree in the Maldives.

Giordano Faggioli has joined Four Seasons in Chiang Mai as Executive Chef. For years, he was the Chef at Ristorante Bologna at the Marina Mandarin in Singapore. He also was the Italian Chef at the Dusit Laguna in Phuket.


Olivier Revy has joined the Sofitel Suzhou in China as Chef and Food and Beverage Director. Revy was previously the Director of Food and Beverage at the Pan Pacific Singapore and the White Sands Resort and Spa in the Maldives.



The Peninsula Hong Kong has appointed Ave Botti Director of Housekeeping. Botti was most recently in the same position at the One&Only Le Saint Géran and was previously the Executive Housekeeper at the Four Seasons Milano.





MIDDLE EAST AND AFRICA



Manfred Simons has joined Millennium Hotels as Vice President Operations and Development for the Middle East and North Africa. Simons was most recently with Abu Dhabi National Hotels as Director of Hotel Operations.



Alain Debare has transferred as Hotel Manager for the Hilton Barcelona. He was most recently the Director of Operations for the opening of the Hilton Arc de Triomphe in Paris and previously did the opening as Director of Operations at the Hilton Sao Paulo in addition to working at the Hilton Caracas and Hilton Paris.



General Manager Randy Shimabuku has transferred to the Four Seasons Cairo at the First Residence. Shimabuku was most recently the General Manager of the Regent Kuala Lumpur and was previously the Hotel Manager at the Four Seasons Bangkok.



Jacques Zartarian has been appointed Managing Director of Eko Hotels Ltd, owner of the Eko Hotel & Suites and Ocean View restaurant in Lagos, Nigeria. Zartarian was previously General Manager of the Mövenpick Hotels & Casino Malabata in Tangiers and spent several years with the Royal Monceau group in France.



Philippe Requin has joined the Aphrodite Hills InterContinental Resort in Cyprus as General Manager taking over for Jorgen Jorgensen. Requin was most recently the Chief Operating Officer at Elegant Heritage Mauritius and the General Manager of the Empire Hotel and Country Club in Brunei.



Jorgen Jorgensen has been transferred as General Manager to the InterContinental Dubai from the InterContinental Aphrodite Hills in Cyprus. Jorgensen has worked with InterContinental for ten years, following twenty years with Hyatt and Hyatt International.



Jérôme Dupont has been appointed General Manager of the American Colony Hotel in Jerusalem. Dupont was previously with the Lausanne Palace in Switzerland and has worked ten years for Gauer Hotels, many of those at the Hotel Schweizerhof in Bern.



Michael Nugent has returned to Dubai after a ten-year hiatus to join the Mövenpick Hotel Bur Dubai as General Manager. Nugent has previously been at Le Méridien Dubai, Le Méridien Jeddah and Le Gulf Méridien in Al Khobar.



InterContinental has appointed Sean Walwyn Area Director of Sales and Marketing, UAE and Qatar. Walwyn was most recently the Group's Area Director of Sales and Marketing for the Africa region and has lived and worked in regions as varied as Barbados, Nigeria, Amsterdam, Kuwait, Japan, Istanbul, Canada and Qatar while joining InterContinental over four years ago.



Arcan Bayraktaroglu has been appointed Director of Sales & Marketing of the soon-to-open Swissôtel Ankara. He was previously the Director of Sales and Marketing of the Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn in Istanbul.



Tarek Elsherif has joined Millennium Hotels as Regional Director of Sales and Marketing for the Middle East and North Africa. Elsherif was most recently Area Director of Sales & Marketing for Abu Dhabi with Rotana Hotels.


Christoph Franzen has transferred to the Grand Hyatt Dubai from the Park Hyatt Moscow as Director of Rooms. Franzen was previously at the Grand Hyatt Muscat.



Suzanne Storms joined Le Méridien Al Aqah in the United Arab Emirates as Executive Chef. Storms, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America, was previously at the Mirage Las Vegas. She also worked as Executive Sous Chef at the Fairmont Chicago and had a first experience in the Emirates as a Chef de Cuisine at the Emirates Towers in Dubai.
