Sofitel Dalat Palace: Flower Design Workshop and Contest brings the early spring to Dalat (Vietnam)

Flower Design Workshop and Contest will be held during the Flower Festival in Dalat January 2010

The Sofitel Palace Dalat, in partnership with Dalat Hasfarm and The Dutch Embassy will host Flower Design Workshops, Demonstrations and Flower Making Contests on the 3rd and 4th January 2010 as part of the Dalat Flower Festival, which will run from New Year's Day until January 4th 2010.

"The flower design contest at the Sofitel Dalat will be a great way to see the new year in true Dalat style,” Sofitel Palace Hotel General Manager Tony Chisholm said. “We are a city known for its flowers, bright colours, and fresh produce, and a city with a creative young pool of talent that we look forward to showcasing in this contest.”

The Flower design contest on 3rd January at the Sofitel Dalat hotel is expecting 80 participants from all over Vietnam and will include the attendance of renowned floral designer, Arjan Schep. The Flower contest will take place in the Cezanne Ballroom and the flower show will be in the Sofitel Dalat Garden’s.

"This year of course is a very special flower festival, as the nation celebrates the 1000th birthday of Hanoi, with grand festivities all around the cities and provinces. Our city of Dalat will be one of the first to open these festivities, with the Dalat— city of Eternal Flowers — Festival," Tony continued.

The hotel will be open for public display from 13:30 to 17:00 on 4th January to anyone who loves flowers and flower arranging art at the highest level can enjoy the works of Arjan Schep, and 25 florists from Vietnam, whose efforts will be on exhibition at the Sofitel Gardens. Entry is 50,000 VND.
