Company Also Announces Appointment of Johann Krieger as Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Gaylord Palms

Gaylord Entertainment Company (NYSE: GET) today announced the promotion of Kemp Gallineau, currently senior vice president and general manager of Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center, to senior vice president and chief sales officer for Gaylord Hotels. Gallineau will be succeeded at the Gaylord Palms by Johann Krieger, currently vice president and hotel manager at the property. Both appointments are effective January 1, 2010.

In his new position, Gallineau will lead the Company’s national sales office as well as direct the sales leadership at each Gaylord property and work with brand marketing to promote the hotel company to all of its customer segments.

“Kemp’s strong operational background coupled with his in-depth knowledge of the Gaylord Hotels brand makes him the perfect choice for this critical position,” said David Kloeppel, Gaylord Entertainment president and chief operating officer. “Kemp has built close relationships with meeting and association planners and he understands their needs and Gaylord’s commitment to providing extraordinary service. He has proven to be a talented leader and we are confident he will take our sales organization to the next level.”

Gallineau has an established track record of strong leadership with Gaylord Hotels. Since joining the company in 2001, he has worked on-property at three of the brand’s four hotels. Prior to his position at the Palms, he was vice president and assistant general manager of Gaylord Opryland where, in addition to his operational responsibilities, he had oversight of other Gaylord assets including the Radisson at Opryland, the General Jackson Showboat, Gaylord Springs Golf Links, Wildhorse Saloon and the Transportation Division. He also served as acting general manager of Gaylord National post opening. His 15 years of hospitality industry experience also include positions with the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resorts, Westin and Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

As senior vice president and general manager of Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center, Krieger will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the resort and its management team, including hotel and convention center operations.

“Johann has been a critical part of the success the Palms has achieved over the years, and we are excited that he will be stepping into this leadership role at the property,” said Kloeppel. “He is part of the heart and soul of the Palms and we are confident his team will continue to benefit from his deep understanding of Gaylord operations, unique service perspective, customer engagement, and dedication to our culture and family of STAR employees.”

Johann began his Gaylord career in 2001 as director of front services for Gaylord Palms. During his eight years with Gaylord, he has led bell services, CID, valet, concierge, and celebrity services where he developed a deep understanding of operations from all levels. He has become a pillar of support for the Gaylord Palms property. In 2005, Johann was promoted to director of rooms and further grew his expertise before moving to his current role as VP and hotel manager.
