Rendezvous Hotels International Appoints New General Managers

Rendezvous Hotels International (“RHI”) is pleased to announce two new General Managers to their key executive team. Alan Featherby, Chief Executive Officer of RHI says: “I am very pleased to welcome Jeremy Yap and Karl Unterfrauner to their new positions. I look forward to their continuing dedication and I am confident that they will help build on our present successes, taking the RHI brand from strength to strength”.

Jeremy Yap has been appointed as General Manager of the Rendezvous Reef Resort, Port Douglas. Jeremy joins RHI from Mango Lagoon Resort & Wellness Spa, Palm Cove, where he was employed as Resort General Manager. Prior to this Jeremy gained extensive experience in managing resorts, business hotels, and multi-faceted business ventures. Jeremy is also skilled in opening hotels and dedicated convention centres and has opened properties in Sydney, Adelaide, Cairns, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur and Thailand.

The Rendezvous Hotel, Melbourne also welcomes a new General Manager with Karl Unterfrauner appointed to the role. In his previous position Karl was General Manager of the Duxton Hotel in Melbourne for five years. Karl has also worked in management roles with Southern Pacific Hotels throughout New Zealand . Karl has a passion for food and attained his chef’s qualifications in Italy , 1984 devoting the following 10 years working in 5 star hotels across Europe .

Rendezvous currently operates 11 hotels in the Asia-Pacific region and is in negotiations on a number of other properties that fit well with the company’s expansion plans in China , Australia and the Asia Pacific region. The prototype of a typical Rendezvous hotel is 200 rooms plus, 4 star corporate hotels in gateway cities throughout the region and upscale resorts offering leisure and recreational facilities in key resort locations throughout the region. Rendezvous assumed management of Rendezvous Hotel, Melbourne and Rendezvous Reef Resort, Port Douglas ; the latest additions to the Rendezvous group on 8th December 2005 .

Rendezvous Hotels ( Australia ) Pty Ltd is part of the Singapore listed public company Straits Trading Group (STC). The Rendezvous Hotels & Resorts International group currently operates 11 hotels in the Asia-Pacific region:
