Lofty Spaces, Intriguing Angles and Stunning Panoramic Views Draw in the Eye, While Remaining Senses Delight in Their Own Sensual Sensory Overload

As you leisurely stroll from the all-glass, contemporary lobby to the expansive infinity pool, which seems to casually roll itself right into the majestic ocean waters, you sense Live Aqua Cancun is different.

Blending a clean, natural color palette with contemporary, avant-garde décor influenced by the four classical elements of earth, wind, fire and water, Live Aqua Cancun creates a spacious, sensual atmosphere where guests can obtain spiritual and physical harmony by incorporating all of the body's five senses. Design elements by internationally acclaimed architect Isaac Abadi and designer Francisco Hanhausen, including custom-made aromatherapy sprays, pulsing rhythms and tranquil water features, carefully enhance the resort and its 371 guestrooms, including 36 suites.

DESIGNED FOR THE SENSES

In the resort's entrance and lobby, Abadi uses an immense, crystal cube as a focal point for his architectural expression. This cube serves as the heart of Live Aqua Cancun, a pulsating place from which positive energy flows. This energy, represented by bold, red accents, can be found throughout the rest of Abadi's designs, including an arch and aqueduct at the outdoor gardens.

Hanhausen, meanwhile, uses light and free forms in his designs, which include more than 59,000 square feet of interior space. As an architect devoted to residential design, his ultimate goal for the resort is to instill into each guest a feeling of comfort and peace, a feeling of home.

Yet the essence of Live Aqua Cancun's interior design that distinguishes it from other Mexican hotels is that it creates much more than a "mi casa es tu casa" feeling. Instead, the resort offers a unique environment for each space.

"Each place, each center of activity has its own theme, and this helps us create something uniquely different, from a fun bar with a touch of extravagance to contemporary rooms decorated with neutral tones," explained Hanhausen. "In Live Aqua Cancun, we demonstrate that Mexico is far beyond pyramids and brightly colored décor. Contemporary Mexico is much more than that, and Live Aqua Cancun reflects the new Mexican architecture and design."

YOUR SENSORIAL SANCTUARY

Each of Live Aqua Cancun’s 371 guestrooms has been designed to create a luxurious yet relaxed environment, featuring neutral colors and fabrics and smooth textures of clear-colored marbles and tropical woods. Large, inviting mirrors and windows lend a feeling of openness throughout each room. King bed accommodations feature long, expansive bathroom windows that highlight the magnificent views of the Caribbean Sea, without losing a sense of intimacy or privacy. Luxurious details like Egyptian cotton sheets make dreams here that much more sweet.

To complement Hanhausen's contemporary designs, all guestrooms offer the finest luxury amenities, including 32-inch LCD televisions with DVD/CD/MP3 and satellite programming, iHome(R) clock radios with iPod(R) bases, high-speed Internet, coffee service and in-room mini bars.

"SUITELY" DESIGNED

The contemporary ambiance and relaxed luxury of the Wind and Earth Suites is enhanced by smooth textures and neutral colors, ranging from shades of light blues and warm grays to touches of rich, exotic purples. Sizeable mirrors bring in warm light, kindling passion and romance. Upgraded suite amenities include Bose(R) music systems with iPod bases.

Emphasizing the classical element of water with a color palette of blue, turquoise and gray, Aqua Suites offer integrated living, sleeping and bathing spaces in a spa-like atmosphere. Sheer curtains, giving the impression of a private spa, separate each distinct area, and in-room saunas, Jacuzzis(R) and comfortable lounge furniture pieces further strengthens the décor theme.

Reminiscent of a loft environment, Fire Suites include low, wooden screens, separating the living, sleeping and bathing areas. The open bathrooms' large, wooden decks provide a spa-inspired environment, and bright touches to the neutral color scheme ignite the otherwise relaxed atmosphere, where couples can enjoy views of the sun setting over the Yucatan Peninsula.

Designed as a part of the cool and tranquil water theme, Sun and Moon Suites, Live Aqua's exclusive presidential suites, provide all the amenities of a posh, private penthouse. With an area of approximately 3,550 square feet, each suite offers a social area that serves as a living room, a dining room, a home theatre and a personal office and provides two separate bedrooms, a guestroom and a master bedroom with a walk-in closet and a "salle de bain" integrated into its private, in-room spa. The suites’ large terraces function as both outdoor living and dining areas and lead to private Jacuzzis(R).

SHIMMERING SENSATIONS

One of the most important details at Live Aqua Cancun are the resort’s eight swimming pools, each set at its own unique water temperature. Inspired by a wool tablecloth designed by American architect Frank Lloyd Wright, the pools include an expansive, arched pool surrounded by smaller circular pools, including an infinity pool, that reflect the varying blue tones of the Caribbean Sea.

ENLIVEN YOUR SENSES

A curtain of tiny linked crystals drapes over the large, contemporary bar at Egos, further enhancing its extravagant yet cozy look. Similar crystals fall loosely over the seats, forming a geometric pattern of columns of light. The color patterns in the bar include purples, oranges and reds in striking textures, ranging from bright metal to smooth velvet, evoking a fun, hip and extravagant essence where the senses are filled to the fullest.

Offering a unique concept and beverage menu designed by internationally acclaimed beverage consultant and wine connoisseur Steve Olsen, also known as "the wine geek," the aptly named AKA Wine & Mezcal Bar offers a wide variety of fine wines as well as cocktails exclusively made from the agave plant (tequilas and mezcals), which provide an authentically Mexican tasting experience. Dark-colored woods and textured fabrics, from wine red to mustard yellow, provide an atmosphere of relaxed and comfortable luxury, while the ultra hi-tech bar offers some practicality with its in-bar wine dispensers, creating the ultimate wine sampling experience. Adorned with bottles of fine wine, the billiard area provides a private alcove for enjoying light conversation, drinking or enjoying a good game of pool or pocket billiards.

CALMING THE SENSES

La Boutique Aqua is where guests can take home a piece of the Live Aqua experience, offering objects and pieces that are uniquely designed and appeal to the senses. The boutique offers Live Aqua products, cigars, resort wear and toiletries.

B-ON offers a collection of art books for a relaxing day in as well as computer and business services for guests to enjoy in the comfort of lounge sofas and laptop tables. Wireless Internet access is available at B-ON and throughout the hotel.

At the Pool Club, Live Aqua Club members and suite guests have access to exotic, tropical drinks either inside the pool or in the exclusive beach cabanas and beds. The Pool Club also offers complimentary use of an iPod Shuffle(R) with Aqua signature music at no cost.

The Garden of the Senses is an open area that encourages meditation and the enjoyment of nature in special, unique place. The Garden creates a sense of tranquility and a yearning to find oneself while offering tranquil music that harmonizes the senses.
