The country may not be much bigger than London’s Hyde Park, but the tiny Principality of Monaco walked off with three important prizes at the 2010 M&IT Awards (Meeting & Incentive Travel). The Ceremony was held in the Novotel London West on Monday 22 February with Kate Silverton, BBC TV presenter, as Master of Ceremonies. Organized by the English trade magazine Meeting & Incentive Travel, the various sectors of the business were brought together in order to celebrate and reward service and product excellence. The prizes were based on the readers’ opinions that reached over 7,600 votes in 22 categories.
In this regard, the hotel Fairmont Monte-Carlo, the Grimaldi Forum, and the Monaco Tourism and Congress Bureau based in London were all voted the best in their category.

The Fairmont Monte Carlo was among 274 nominees in its sector of “Best Overseas Hotel”, winning the gold prize ahead of other prestigious establishments such as the Ritz Carlton Arts in Barcelona, the Four Seasons in Istanbul and Malta’s Hilton Hotel.
A well deserved victory following a 45 M investment that has completely transformed this four-star deluxe hotel, located between the Mediterranean Sea, the legendary Casino and the Carré d’Or in the heart of Monaco.
The Fairmont Monte Carlo features 602 rooms, suites and residences, 2 restaurants and bars, a rooftop fitness center and pool, Willow Stream, a Fairmont Spa, casino and boutiques, and is an ideal destination for business or pleasure while enjoying the beauty of its location on the Mediterranean Sea offering over 300 days of sunshine.
Monaco, as a leading destination for meetings and incentives, the Hotel offers over 3500 sqm of meeting space in 18 function rooms, with spectacular roof top terraces and breathtaking views of Mediterranean coastline.
The triple gold recognition of Destination Monaco as leaders in the MICE sector (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions & Exhibitions) is a well deserved reward emphasizing the strength of its partners and famous motto “Need a venue, we offer you a country”.

This award crowns all the achievements of the Fairmont Monte Carlo in 2009, which also included the following recognition:

- a Silver Award as the “Best Overseas Conference Hotel” by the Conference & Incentive Travel - meeting planners have voted the very best in class, the finest hotels to impress incentive trippers, the best conference venues for clients, and the destinations that do more than tick a box;

- it has been elected as one of the “Top 100 Southern Europe Hotels” by Condé Nast - readers have chosen the best the travel world has to offer;

- and finally as “Europe's Leading Casino Hotel” by the World Travel Award - after a search covering 7 continents and 3,600 nominees.
