Exclusive historical and gastronomic routes for the Florentine hotel of the Baglioni Hotels Collection

Relais Santa Croce, the latest acquisition of Baglioni Hotels, has some exciting new suggestions for visitors to Florence. Go right into the heart of the city, explore its secrets, enjoy its cuisine and see some of the world’s finest craftsmen at work.

The Relais Santa Croce offers special tours to historical places which are normally closed to the public, such as the wonderful Palazzo Pitti and the Ferragamo Museum, dedicated to the history of fashion from the Renaissance to the present day. Or, perhaps you might like to make a private visit a small but very special jewellery workshop situated in a medieval tower just a few steps from the Ponte Vecchio, to see gold, silver and precious stones being turned into stunning pieces?

To sample some of the best food in the world try our 8 Star Gourmet Emotional Experience - 5 stars belonging to the Relais Santa Croce and 3 Michelin stars belonging to the Enoteca Pinchiorri: an unparalleled opportunity set inside the same Palazzo that houses both the hotel and this renowned restaurant. Charming spaces enriched by frescos and work of art from Florentine history, luxury rooms and, memorable dinners created by one of the world’s greatest chefs, go together to create a very special stay in a magical city.

For those who are enraptured by the sense of smell, the Florentine hotel opens the door of the Officina Profumo Farmaceutica of Santa Maria Novella, where the same perfumes that were created for the Medici family are still kept and produced today. The route through the evolution of perfume and the essences reaches its peak at the Olfattorio, a place where you can sample the different smells that are put together to produce the beautiful scents that are made now just as they were during the Renaissance.

“It is essential to guarantee our guests a personalized offer not only through a warm and familiar service” – declares Baglioni Hotels General Manager in Tuscany, Eugenio Rigo – “but also to give the opportunity of getting into the history of Florence and therefore to appreciate its treasures. The collaboration with the Enoteca Pinchiorri,” adds Rigo, “is not only because two share the same prestigious location, but also it suggests a really unique offer in the national hotel panorama, able to let our guests experience Florence and Tuscany through two gems with a high cultural value”.

Relais Santa Croce, in the heart of the historical center of Florence, is located in an aristocratic palace built by the Marchese Baldinucci in 1700. During the recent renovation all the furnishings, fabrics and original frescos have been kept, in order not to change the warm and welcoming atmosphere that one can breathe. In the palace the original trusses - attributed to Vasari - that support the stucco decorated vault of the Sala della Musica are still present. The 24 rooms, all different from each other, are embellished with antiques and contemporary design, Italian furniture which creates a pleasant contrast. The management aims to differentiate itself by recreating the atmosphere of a very beautiful, private residence for its guests.

The Baglioni Group was created in 1973 and today has 15 properties in Italy (Bologna, Florence, Milan, Rome, Verona, Venice and Punta Ala), France, (Aix-en-Provence, Champillon-Epernay, Saint Paul de Vence, Mirambeau-Borbeaux, Bort L’Etang Auvergn) and UK, (London). With its headquarters in Milan, Baglioni Hotels today has 800 employees.
