Sofitel Luxury Hotels signs with Hainan Tiantuo Investment Export Co. ltd To Manage Sofitel Haikou (China)

Sofitel Luxury Hotels had announced the signing of the management contract for the Hainan Tiantuo Investment Exploit Co. Ltd and Jinyi Real Estate Development Co. Ltd’s latest hotel property, Sofitel Haikou. The signing ceremony was held on March 6, 2010 to celebrate the merging of these two groups.

Sofitel Haikou will be located along Seaside Avenue, which is located in the heart of Haikou’s busy financial district, also considered as the financial hub of Hainan Island. Close to high-end offices and bank headquarters, Sofitel Haikou will be establishing itself in a prominent area of the city. For those travelers with shopping in mind, Sofitel Haikou will be situated across the road from the site of the Duty Free Mall, which has the only duty free operation on Hainan Island.

Equipped with 398 guestrooms, meeting rooms, a business center, So Spa & fitness facilities, Sofitel Haikou will also boast a ballroom, 8 multi function rooms and numerous restaurants and bars, which will uphold the standard of Sofitel Luxury Hotels. With an indoor and an outdoor swimming pool, Sofitel Haikou will provide guests with a complete experience.

With a development history of over 10 years, Hainan Tiantuo Investment Exploit Co. Ltd and its subsidiary Jinyi Real Estate Development Co. Ltd. are both Haikou-based real estate and construction company which have developed numerous residential projects, including the Palm Garden, which is one of the most exclusive apartments in Haikou city. With the area of land they have acquired in the heart of Haikou, they plan to build an office tower with a 20,000m2 high-end shopping arcade as well as Sofitel Haikou, which is going to be positioned as the leading hotel in the financial centre.

The Haikou Tourism Development Commission Director Mr Long Wei Dong expressed in his speech, “this will not only be an exciting project for both Tiantuo and Sofitel, but also a ‘landmark’ breakthrough in the luxury hotel market in Haikou. We look forward to seeing Sofitel as a luxury brand hotel by delivering world class service in this city.”

Sofitel Haikou is expected to open in early 2014.
