Cancun’s Leading All-Inclusive Resort Unveils a New Beach and Announces its Second H Award, Just in Time for the Busy Summer Travel Season
Barceló Tucancun Beach has much to celebrate this summer. After a months-long beach rejuvenation project, this leading all-inclusive resort, located in the heart of Cancun’s world-famous hotel zone, sports a new, wider stretch of powdery, white sand, offering even more fun in the sun for travelers.
State and federal governments as well as local municipalities and private investors contributed 71 million USD toward Cancun’s beach renewal project. Using more than two thousand tons of pipeline material and 1.3 billion gallons of sand, the restoration efforts have replenished more than 6.8 miles of the famed coastline, including Barceló Tucancun Beach’s premier location, arguably one of the most beautiful beaches in the destination.
“We used to only have a tiny walkway as the beach,” said General Manager Francisco Vazquez. “Now that the recovery project is completed, we have a big, beautiful beach for guests to enjoy the many all-included activities that Barceló Tucancun Beach offers.”
In addition to a new and improved beach, the resort was recently recognized with the distinctive H award for its second consecutive year. This prestigious certification, granted by the Mexico Tourism Ministry, is awarded to restaurants and hotels that exceed hygiene, safety and health requirements in the preparation, handling and disposing of food.
“For the second consecutive year, the H Award has helped recognize our strong positioning, both as a premier, all-inclusive destination and as a leading resort in the country,” continued Vazquez.
After its own extensive renewal project, which was completed on June 1, 2009, Barceló Tucancun Beach boasts the most comprehensive all-inclusive program in the destination and on one of Cancun’s finest stretches of sand. Ideally nestled between the tranquil waters of the Nichupte Lagoon and the sparkling, turquoise Caribbean Sea, the resort provides a wealth of opportunities for guests to have fun and explore, both on land and on water.
