• For the first time a hotel company will take the bar concept to the highest culinary level

The Vice Chairman and CEO of Sol Meliá, Gabriel Escarrer, and the prestigious businessman and cocktail maestro, Javier de las Muelas have signed an agreement to open a new concept bar under the Dry by Javier de las Muelas brand at the Gran Meliá Fénix de Madrid.

The capital of Spain thus welcomes one of the most famous and prestigious bars in the world, an icon in the cocktail industry, where tradition and innovation go hand in hand to create the most elegant cocktails, from the most classic to the most avant-garde.

The agreement between Sol Meliá, one of the most important hotel companies in the world, and the well known cocktail maestro will give the bar at the Gran Meliá Fénix, located in the Plaza de Colón in Madrid, the added value of glamour and elegance, incorporating a feminine touch and a quality slant on the traditional bar culture. A space where hotel guests and the general public can meet, converse and enjoy unforgettable moments and experiences, typical of the most celebrated and cosmopolitan bars in the world.

The “Cuatro Estaciones” bar and lounge on the ground floor of the hotel will soon be reformed and adapted to the standards of the Dry Martini Cosmopolitan Bar in Barcelona. The result will be a new venue wholly designed by Javier de las Muelas which is expected to make the hotel an international point of reference.

With this latest agreement with Javier de las Muelas, Sol Meliá continues to make progress in offering guests a universe of great sensations and experiences. The hotel chain is striving to make haute cuisine one of the major added values in its hotels. Sol Meliá already has landmark restaurants and bars at its hotels such as: ME by Meliá by Rande Gerber, Calima Restaurant by chef Dani García, with a Michelin star, at the Gran Meliá Don Pepe de Marbella, and the prestigious Dos Cielos by the Torres brother at the ME de Barcelona.
