Grupo Mariana Family of Resorts and Wyndham Worldwide Hotels & Resorts have established an important strategic alliance that will result in the development of a $30 million, 330-room Wyndham Mariana Resort & Casino that will be one of the key centerpieces of the Seaside Mariana Spa & Golf Resort.

Located on Nicaragua's Pacific Coast, Seaside Mariana is situated on 923 acres with over one mile of beachfront, and features condominiums, golf & oceanfront villas, casitas, home sites, equestrian center, town center, oceanfront destination club, and Nicaragua's first Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.

With the crucial infrastructure phase at Seaside Mariana already in motion, the addition of the Wyndham Alliance provides multiple avenues for putting further capital into the exciting Central American property market. The prospects for this strategic alliance are bright, as both sides will bring their core competencies to bear on this signature development project.

The track record at Wyndham Worldwide Hotels & Resorts is impressive. It is now the world's largest hotel brand, encompassing nearly 7,090 hotels and representing more than 593,300 rooms in 66 countries on six continents. Wyndham also is the world's largest vacation ownership business, managing more than 73,000 privately owned vacation properties in approximately 100 countries.

"We are sharply focused on executing our growth opportunities, not only as the economy recovers, but well into the future," said Stephen P. Holmes, chairman and CEO of Wyndham Worldwide. According to Holmes, Wyndham has built a significant presence in major hospitality markets throughout the world with more than 55 brands now in place and revenues exceeding expectations. Wyndham also has been ranked among the top 100 greenest companies in America by Newsweek magazine, including a top 10 ranking within the Media, Travel and Entertainment category.

For Grupo Mariana, the involvement of Wyndham Worldwide is further proof of its stated desire to showcase Nicaragua and position it as an evolving economic market that offers significant opportunities for investment, tourism and leisure. The country is already experiencing increasing international investment and an upward trend in tourism.

"We are very excited about the infusion of expertise, influence and international visibility which the Wyndham Alliance provides us," stated Grupo Mariana Chairman Kevin Fleming. "This alliance enables our group to focus on its primary objective of creating world-class, luxury developments in Nicaragua. This will inevitably create a boost in momentum that will get us through the development phases quicker and result in even better results for our investors."

According to Fleming, more and more people are learning about the "New Nicaragua," a country with amazing natural beauty and growing economic vitality. The alliance between Grupo Mariana and Wyndham Worldwide, he noted, will certainly help overcome the lingering misperceptions and demonstrate that this is a promising place to visit and live, work and invest in.
