Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong presents a 10-day Moroccan feast for guests at Café Kool from 17 to 26 September 2010. Guests can enjoy an extensive selection of authentic Moroccan nibbles at both lunch and dinner buffets prepared by Moroccan Chef Mansour Ben Ali from Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai. Regular buffet prices apply.

Moroccan cuisine reflects the influences of the many cultures that the country has come into contact with over the centuries, including Arabic, European, Mediterranean and those of the surrounding African countries. Chicken, beef and lamb are the most commonly eaten meats and couscous is a popular Moroccan dish, along with tagine and harira.

Chef Mansour Ben Ali is delighted to create an expansive menu that features a number of traditional Moroccan favourites. Guests can begin the meal with Moroccan Couscous Salad and Moroccan Harira Soup. Other cold dishes for guests include Moroccan Carrot Salad with Green Olives and Mint, Zaalouk (Spicy Aubergine with Tomato Sauce) as well as Marinated Black Olives with Harissa Sauce. There is also a large assortment of hot dishes, such as Chicken Tagine with Preserved Lemon, Green Olives and Thyme, Lamb Tagine with Shallots and Prunes, Lamb Meshwi with Saffron Rice and Moroccan Spices, and Moroccan Kefta Kebabs, among other indulgent choices. Moroccan Biscuits, Semolina Pancakes with Butter and Honey, and Briouts with Dates and Almonds are some of the unique Moroccan sweet treats with which guests can finish their meal.

“We realise the importance to continuously adapt to the ever-changing needs and so the hotel constantly introduces cuisines from around the world to our guests who appreciate good food. We are very pleased to have the opportunity to hold this Moroccan food promotion with Pudong Shangri-La, Shanghai. This is good news for foodies wanting to have a taste of authentic Moroccan delicacies without even leaving Hong Kong,” said Mr Gael Moureau, Executive Chef of Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong.

Situated on the mezzanine level of Kowloon Shangri-La, Hong Kong, Café Kool has a warm and upbeat ambience offering buffets of authentic global cuisines prepared live in six open kitchens by an experienced team of culinary artists. An extensive all-day dining à la carte menu is also available. Café Kool opens daily from 6 am to midnight. For reservations and enquiries, please call 2733 8753.
