Outrigger Luana Waikiki is pleased to announce the grand opening of Protea Café, a brand new boutique restaurant located at the entrance to the Hotel. Offering fresh fare with reasonable prices for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the restaurant is open daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
“Delicious food and a quaint ambiance make Protea Café a blissful place for a glass of wine and a relaxing meal,” said Pamela Cabrera, general manager of Outrigger Luana Waikiki. “Our guests have already been raving about the wonderful food and we’re certain it will soon become a favorite for locals as well.”
Breakfast options at Protea Café range from refreshing acai bowls to sweet cranberry-walnut French toast and gourmet egg dishes. Protea Café features illy coffee drinks, blended fruit smoothies and fresh-squeezed juices, including guava nectar, pineapple, orange and watermelon.
Lunch and dinner items at the Café offer diners favorites from around the globe. Savory starters include the Protea brushetta, Moroccan hummus, Kalua pork quesadilla. Salad lovers will enjoy a diverse selection, ranging from the signature Protea salad, with fresh Nalo greens, sliced almonds, grape tomatoes, cucumbers, gorgonzola and sundried tomato dressing to the mouth-watering Dijon potato salad. The gourmet sandwich menu runs deep with flavors; items include the sinful crab BLT, Panini Italiano, Rueben Panini and chicken-salad croissant.
Handmade thin-crust pizza and classic pastas complete the food menu. Diners can’t go wrong with specialty pies, such as the signature Protea -- with toppings of caramelized sweet onions, mushrooms, spinach and gorgonzola cheese. Linguine, fettuccini and capellini pastas are topped with tomato, alfredo and white wine garlic-butter sauces; the intense flavors heightened with a glass of red or white from the restaurant’s unique wine list.
Protea Café has a drink that pairs perfectly with each entrée. The smoothie menu offers something for every palate, with healthy fresh fruit options to inspired adult cocktails for the over 21 crowd. The large selection of beer and wine are sure to please, offering both local and imported brews.
Hotel guests staying at Outrigger Luana Waikiki can choose from a number of well-appointed accommodation options, including intimate hotel rooms for two, studios with kitchenettes, or spacious one- and two- bedroom suites that include full kitchen areas.
