The St. Regis New York, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT), is honored to announce its partnership with Robin Hood, a renowned organization dedicated to combating poverty in New York City by implementing effective programs that impact the community. With Robin Hood, St. Regis New York will create exclusive hotel packages with a percentage of proceeds benefiting the organization’s literacy and emergency food programs and a mentoring program to promote job placement.

“We are honored to partner with Robin Hood, whom we know is dedicated to the battle poverty in New York,” says Paul Nash, General Manager of the St. Regis New York. “The St. Regis has been a landmark in New York for more than a century, so we champion their unwavering efforts to develop effective programs that impact and improve our community.”

“The St. Regis New York is a perfect partner for Robin Hood,” says David Saltzman, Executive Director of Robin Hood. “The St. Regis is an exemplary corporate citizen in New York City. Their efforts toward helping their neighbors in need are truly inspiring and we look forward to working with them for years to come.”

With a nod to its rich literary legacy, beginning January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011, The St. Regis New York will donate a portion of proceeds from the sale of a special literary package that includes a tour of New York City where guests visit the most interesting rare book collections at The New York Public Library, the Morgan Library and the exclusive Grolier Club curated by Thornwillow Press – the limited edition publisher, bespoke stationer, and custom bookbinder.

The St. Regis New York will also donate a percentage of the proceeds from the sale of Adour’s signature Cookpot dish to Robin Hood’s emergency food programs, also beginning January 1, 2011 through December 31, 2011, following a recent Robin Hood dinner hosted by The St. Regis New York and Adour Alain Ducasse at The St. Regis New York which raised approximately US $500,000 for the foundation. The seasonal vegetable Cookpot dish is the perfect accompaniment to Adour’s exquisite main courses, offering guests the opportunity to give back to the culinary community while enjoying a delectable dish in the hotel’s signature restaurant.

Additionally, The St. Regis New York will launch a mentoring program in collaboration with Robin Hood’s youth job training program to provide a breadth of hospitality experience for young individuals interested in a range of positions from administrative to food service training. The mentoring program will consist of a series of three week rotations throughout the year, and aims to provide each individual with invaluable experience and skills to ultimately help with their permanent job placement.

The mentoring program will begin in May 2011 and for both the Robin Hood Literary Package and Adour’s Cookpot, 20% of proceeds will be donated to Robin Hood.
