Mr. Bipan Kapur, General Manager of The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, recently announced that Mr. Ewald Jeske has been appointed Executive Chef of the property.
With a 30 year history in the of food and beverage industry, Chef Ewald Jeske brings a wealth of culinary knowledge and experience to the resort. As a Master Chef graduate from the Hotel School Heidelberg, Germany, Chef Ewald has had the opportunity to work in a number of exotic destinations including India, Korea, Fiji, Taiwan, and Australia.
Chef Ewald has accumulated a long list of career highlights from being a Guest Chef on the Queen Elizabeth 2 Cruise Liner to assuming the role of a judge for the Salon Culinaire Gold Coast as well as for Culinary Art, New Delhi, India. He was also a Guest Chef on the Jeff Jansz ‘What’s Cooking’ television show and had the honour to cater for H.R.H., The Prince of Wales in 2005.
Chef Ewald's career with Starwood Hotels & Resorts started in 1989 where he has worked for high profile brands including Westin, W and Sheraton. His impeccable culinary skills led to positions at the Sheraton Mirage Resort & Spa Gold Coast, The Westin Hotel in Taipei, Sheraton & Westin Resorts Fiji, W Hotel Walkerhill, Seoul and The Westin Sohna-Gurgaon, India. Chef Edwald’s most recent appointment prior to relocating to Bali was as Executive Chef at Sheraton on The Park, Sydney.
In his new role Chef Ewald will oversee all of the resort’s restaurants and bars as well as the catering services for the renowned Bali International Convention Centre which handles dining for more than 1,000 people. He will report directly to General Manager, Mr. Bipan Kapur.
