Fixed-wireless data circuit gives premier resort and conference center scalable high-speed Internet access in multi-service package that includes business continuity solution
Hyatt Regency Scottsdale Resort and Spa is one of the Southwest’s leading convention sites due to the resort’s facilities, resources and guest services, including high-bandwidth Internet services from Airband Communications. Airband’s enterprise-class fixed-wireless service can scale within hours upon the resort’s request to meet virtually any need of conference organizers or attendees, and because the data connection is wireless, it’s immune to cable cuts, flooding and other mishaps that can interrupt landline-based services.
Hyatt Regency Scottsdale covers 27 acres and includes more than 70,000 square feet of conference space, 36 meeting rooms and nearly 500 guestrooms. The resort’s location, championship golf, spa and other world-class amenities make it a natural choice for corporate conferences and industry events. Being able to provide convention customers with a wide range of reliable, high-quality Internet access and network connectivity options is a key competitive differentiator for the resort.
Airband provides Hyatt Regency Scottsdale with a 50MB fixed-wireless circuit that is scalable on-demand to 170MB. The primary data circuit supports back-of-house, conference and guest data needs. In addition, Airband provides the resort with a business continuity solution that includes a wired MPLS connection deployed separately from the resort’s existing communications infrastructure, thereby creating a true diverse path that provides automatic and seamless failover for a solid business continuity plan.
Airband’s scalable fixed-wireless solution is significantly different than wired “burstable” broadband offerings from phone or cable companies where usage billing above the bandwidth threshold can be unpredictable. With Airband, hotels control the amount of bandwidth that’s available, and when needed, they pay only for a specific increase in bandwidth, therefore creating predictable data performance and a pre-determined cost ceiling. The resort customer also is not restricted to buying services in T1 or DS3 increments, as Airband can provide services ranging from 2 MB to GigE speeds.
