RIU Hotels & Resorts will open this December 2011 the Riu Palace Bavaro, an elegant resort in the RIU Punta Cana complex, located directly on the beach of Arena Gorda. The opening of this new hotel coincides with the celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the international presence of RIU Hotels & Resorts. In November 1991, RIU opened its first resort outside of Spain, the hotel Riu Taino. Two decades later, on the same site where this historic hotel was located, the hotel chain opens the new hotel from the luxurious line Riu Palace, which will become the 34th RIU resort in Latin America & the Caribbean.
The Riu Palace Bavaro will be the fifth hotel in Punta Cana and the third of the luxurious range Riu Palace, as the hotel chain already has the Riu Palace Macao and Riu Palace Punta Cana in this destination.
This modern hotel offers the renowned 24 Hours All-Inclusive programme and will feature 610 rooms distributed between the main building and twelve luxury villas that include wireless internet in their suites and Jr. Suites (Wifi service is also available in the lobby). The hotel will offer four swimming pools, two of which have integrated Jacuzzi, a children's pool with a mini-club, the famous entertainment programme and a Spa with sauna, jacuzzi and gym.
The new Riu Palace Bavaro will be the ideal choice for conventions, incentives and events as the property will offer a Convention Center of 12,916 sq ft consisting of four conference rooms which will be able to accommodate up to 1000 people.
The gastronomic offer from the new hotel will present a vast selection of tastes in its main restaurant, four specialty restaurants, a lobby bar with ice cream and pastries and a Sports Bar open 24 Hours. Located within the RIU complex, the Caribbean Street offers guests various services such as Spa, Fitness Center, Souvenir Shop, the nightclub Pacha, which has free entrance for RIU guests and the Casino located in the Riu Palace Macao.
Guests from the new Riu Palace Bavaro will have the privilege of enjoying during the day the facilities of the other four hotels within the RIU complex: Riu Palace Punta Cana, Riu Palace Macao, Riu Bambu and Riu Naiboa. The RIU Punta Cana complex is located on the Playa Arena Gorda, considered one of the most gorgeous beaches in the world, in which guests can enjoy the turquoise water, dazzling white sand and palm trees that reach the sea.
