Leading luxury Phuket resort Indigo Pearl has been awarded the coveted title of Global Winner – Best Luxury Spa Hotel at the recent World Luxury Hotel Awards 2011 held in Zegrab, Croatia.

The award is the latest in a string of accolades received by the resort which has been hailed a design masterpiece and one of the world’s most stylish resorts by leading international publications. Recognizing the resort’s unique fusion of modern architecture with the island’s ancient tin mining heritage, Mr. Kelly Lewis the recently appointed General Manager of Indigo Pearl said: “We are absolutely delighted and greatly honored to earn such a prestigious award. This is remarkable recognition for all of us at Indigo Pearl and of course to our celebrated designer, Mr Bill Bensley who continues to push boundaries with his inspired design.”

“We are proud to have some of Phuket’s most talented staff and will continue to deliver exceptional holiday experiences to our guests.”

The World Luxury Hotel Awards honor the world’s finest hotels committed to the highest standards of quality service and was founded on the principle that celebrated extraordinary hotels with attentive service will encourage and maintain excellence within a highly competitive industry. Its core philosophy is to congratulate hotels that have taken extra steps to provide their guests with outstanding experiences and as such proven to be part of the “very rare legendary hotel” association.

Marinique Truter, Manager of World Luxury Hotel Awards said: “The World Luxury Hotel Awards believe that the overall guest experience is one of the most critical factors in a hotel’s measure as a luxury hotel.

“Outstanding properties are those that surprise the guest with unexpected experience bonuses, experiences that are more about recognition of the guest other than the thread count,” he continued.

Set amidst lush tropical gardens, pools and post-modern art, Indigo Pearl offers stylish accommodation ranging from D-Buk suites with terraces overlooking the abundant gardens; to expansive individually themed suites and all new pool villas which feature a range of luxuries from ensuite spa areas and Jacuzzis to private plunge pools.

Signature features of Indigo Pearl include seven distinctive restaurants and bars; three striking swimming pools (2 adults only) and a private beach club; all of which are subtly inspired by Phuket’s tin-mining heritage.

The resort offers a range of unique leisure facilities, both on land and sea, range of activities from yoga and Thai cooking classes to deep sea fishing and diving, allowing guests to sculpt their own holiday activities.

It’s recently opened Coqoon Spa comprises six individual treatment rooms and a lavish spa suite complete with private pool, Vichy rain shower, steam room and sauna. Its design pièce de résistance is ‘The Nest’ – a signature treatment suite suspended midair in the branches of what is thought to be Phuket’s oldest banyan tree.

In addition to this Global Winner - Best Luxury Spa Hotel award, Indigo Pearl has topped the charts of prestigious titles include Conde Nast Traveller, ELLE and Tablet Hotels. This year alone, Coqoon Spa has been awarded ‘Best Design Spa’ in Design et al International Hotel and Property Awards 2011, and runner up for Best Luxury Spa Award at 2011 World Luxury Spa Awards.

The resort is currently undergoing a multi-million dollar aesthetic transformation in partnership with Bensley Design Studios to become an ‘all suite and villa’ property. The next stage of development is the unveiling of a number of exclusive Pool & Spa Villas ranging from 550 to 2,500 square metres – set to open imminently.

Indigo Pearl is easily accessible from almost everywhere in Asia aboard direct flights to Phuket and is located next to Nai Yang Beach, 10 minutes from Phuket International Airport.
