Luxury Travel Expo, produced by Luxury Travel Advisor and Travel Agent, saw 1,889 travel advisors networking with over 550 luxury suppliers while learning in over 25 sessions. The thirteenth annual show was held from December 6-8 at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. The show's reformatted schedule allowed for the addition of new educational opportunities, including the Learning Luncheon, Power Hour and the Fast Track to Luxury Profits Mini-Modules.

“Based on the demand for more education, our goal was to deliver relevant content that advisors can implement into their businesses immediately,” remarked Jennifer Fernandez, show and event director, Questex Travel Group. “We are receiving a great deal of positive feedback on the new learning opportunities to our already popular program and will continue to evolve not only the educational component but the overall show experience in 2012.”

New location and dates announced for 2012 show!
Luxury Travel Expo announced that the fourteenth annual show will be held at The Palazzo ® Las Vegas from November 27-29, 2012. The all-suite, Five Diamond hotel offers attendees world class dining, shopping, entertainment and more. Ranked first among Las Vegas Hotels in Travel + Leisure's World's Best Awards in 2010, attendees will find the exhibit hall, educational programming and accommodations under one roof maximizing attendee investment.

New educational opportunities prove to be welcomed addition!
The Wednesday Learning Luncheon engaged advisors in an interactive game show style presentation from American Express and were eligible to win thousands of dollars while learning how to create more revenue with the American Express Card. CLIA's Christine Duffy gave an informative update on cruising while executives from leading luxury oceangoing lines stressed the profitability for advisors from the niche. Moderated by Bill Smith, vice president, cruise sales and exclusive product, Virtuoso, panelists included: Mark Conroy, president, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Gregg Michel, president, Crystal Cruises, Peter Shanks, president and managing director, Cunard Line, and Ken Watson, chief operating officer, Silversea Cruises.

Larry Pimentel, president and chief executive officer, Azamara Club Cruises, presented during the Thursday Power Hour where he covered tips on how advisors can reach affluent clientele during the current economic climate.

The Fast Track to Luxury Profits Mini-Modules proved to be popular in a time slot that is normally light in attendance. The half hour sessions, held on Thursday, allowed attendees to gain knowledge directly from participating suppliers. Advisors gleaned insider tips and exclusive information enabling them to grow their portfolio of luxury offerings.

Attendees enjoyed the party of the year!
The fifth anniversary Luxury After Dark Party, sponsored by the Las Vegas Convention & Visitors Authority, Palms Casino Resort, N9NE Group and Rain Nightclub, welcomed over 2,000 travel professionals to mingle and network while dancing the night away at Rain Nightclub Wednesday night.

Leaders honored during annual awards program.
On Tuesday, the 2011 Leaders in Luxury awards were presented to four industry leaders who delivered heartfelt acceptance speeches and words of wisdom. Selected by the editors of Luxury Travel Advisor and Travel Agent, the winners were: Greg Tepper, president, Exeter International (Tour); Richard Sasso, president and chief executive officer, MSC Cruises (USA), Inc.
