Welcomes seven AKA properties

Preferred Hotel Group™ today announced its entry into the expanding luxury serviced residences market with the company’s new brand – Summit Serviced Residences. Summit Serviced Residences is a collection of luxury flexible-stay properties that combine the style and amenities of a city hotel with the space and comfort of a personal residence.

Joining the Summit Serviced Residences collection are properties from AKA, a leader in the luxury long-stay market, with locations in New York City, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and Arlington, Virginia. AKA residences balance the style and hospitality of an intimate hotel with the space and comfort of a fully appointed luxury condominium with a full range of services.

“This is a growth opportunity for Preferred Hotel Group. Business travelers on temporary assignments, relocating executives, and family travelers desire exceptional services, and want the experience of staying in luxury accommodations surrounded by the comforts of home,” said Lindsey Ueberroth, President, Preferred Hotel Group. “Entering the flexible-stay market is a natural extension for the company.”

Preferred expects to grow its Summit Serviced Residences collection internationally and will target key cites in Asia, Africa, Europe, and India, where it already includes its inaugural partners in Singapore, 8 on Claymore Serviced Residences, and in South Africa, Gondwana Game Reserve.

Through its global sales network and marketing and distribution services, Summit Serviced Residences offers its partners opportunities to reach travelers looking for flexible-stay options. Embedded in the brand are the company’s legendary Preferred Standards of Excellence™, providing guests the confidence and reassurance they seek when traveling.

“Preferred is pleased to welcome seven AKA properties in its new Summit Serviced Residence collection. Recognized for its stylish, spacious and high-end luxury accommodations, AKA establishes our strong initial leadership presence in the flexible–stay markets, providing travelers with exceptional choices in leading urban destinations,” said Ueberroth.

“We’re thrilled Preferred Hotel Group has launched its new division catering to the long-stay traveler,” said Larry Korman, President of AKA. “The demand for luxury long-stay accommodations continues to grow as a result of individuals' lifestyle shifts. This partnership will help expand our global reach and serve the evolving needs of today's affluent traveler.”
