Great Hotels of the World (http://www.ghotw.com), the London-based hotel sales and marketing alliance, is delighted to announce the completion of major renovation works at its member property, Hotel Berlin, Berlin. These works have placed the hotel into the premier league of conference hotels.

Over the past five years, more than E30 million have been invested to renovate the property. The lobby has been fully refurbished and the hotel has implemented an exclusive Airline Crew Lounge, the first of its kind in the city. A comprehensive renovation on the Classic wing has been completed and the fitness and wellness areas. Additional renovation works of 200 new Premium rooms as well as 26 new conference suites complete the comprehensive reconstructions.

Hotel Berlin, Berlin’s five floors now represent different decades of Berlin’s history to give guests a personal experience of the city’s past, telling a different story through the hotel’s décor. Simultaneously, the new rooms possess modern interior fittings by renowned designer Peter Kempf. Individual pieces, such as the ‘floating bed’ in the Berlin, Berlin Suite complement the new design of the Classic Wing. Guests can also enjoy the new bedrooms’ special additions, such as free WiFi, 42 inch LED televisions, rain showers and soundproof windows to ensure a comfortable night’s rest.

The hotel has thoroughly developed the events space at the property, with 26 new conference suites. The events area has more than doubled and has been extended from 1300m2 to 3000m2, offering exceptional extra facilities to ensure the successful running of meetings. These conference suites have also been incorporated into the new design concept, presenting Berlin’s history up close. The new boardroom can hold up to ten delegates and every conference suite has a balcony, offering a peaceful breakout point between meetings.

Prior to the conversion work, the hotel worked together with customers and users. Aiming to develop the conference rooms in line with customer expectations, Hotel Berlin, Berlin further orientated the construction and furnishings to the requirements of the market. Cornelia Kausch, Managing Director of Hotel Berlin, Berlin comments: “As a business hotel in the centre of the capital, our property not only offers guests all comfort and amenities for business and overnight stays, but also creative stimulation for the mind and soul.”

The four-star superior hotel is now one of the biggest hotels in the city, offering overnight stays joint with excellent conference facilities. With over 700 modern rooms and suites, several restaurants and bars, including one of the few garden restaurants in the city and its own unique conference and events centre with 48 meeting rooms, the hotel continues to impress within the regional and national sector.
