New Iridium Spa offers opening special for couples
The St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort, the premier luxury resort along Yalong Bay, is pleased to introduce South China’s first resort Iridium Spa, a five-star haven of wellbeing that is unmatched in the region. With a signature menu of customized experiences that combine five-star pampering with traditional Chinese treatments and ingredients, Iridium Spa at The St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort will become a destination of its own for visitors to Hainan Island, South China’s elite tropical playground. To celebrate the opening, Iridium Spa is offering “Massage at the Beachside,” a romantic special offer for couples visiting the area.

Open since Nov. 2011, The St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort is quickly becoming known as the crown jewel on Yalong Bay, China’s most exclusive beach resort area. As the region’s first St. Regis hotel, The St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay Resort introduces a new level of luxury, sophistication and bespoke services. The exquisitely designed resort is situated on one of Yalong Bay’s most coveted beaches, with access to more than 800 meters of pristine coastline. The resort offers 401 guest rooms and suites, including 28 beachside villas that will exceed the discerning expectations of St. Regis guests.
Iridium Spa, born from the DNA of the prestigious St. Regis brand and, with four locations around the world, is setting a new standard for spa luxury. Building on a legacy that dates back to the original Iridium Room at The St. Regis New York, Iridium Spa articulates the same distinctive elegance, delivering customized experiences that combine signature St. Regis five-star pampering with traditional local treatments and ingredients.
From now through April 30, Iridium Spa is offering “Massage at the Beachside” -- unprecedented pampering for couples in the spectacular environs of The St. Regis Sanya Yalong Bay’s Beachside Villa. Experience Yalong Bay’s most exquisite accommodations in the most luxurious way possible with a choice of Chinese massage or foot reflexology while enjoying idyllic ocean views. “Massage at the Beachside” is offered daily before sunset at RMB700 per couple, plus 15% surcharge; a reservation is required.
Iridium Spa Facilities
Inspired by its natural surroundings, the spacious Iridium Spa is designed around a hidden, lush tropical garden courtyard that is open to the blue sky above. It sets the ambiance for a relaxing and rejuvenating spa experience. The interior of the spa features a contemporary design utilizing a palette of natural materials and colors that include crisp white and ice blue granite, rich teak wood, and textured slate. The modern style contrasts perfectly with the traditional, lush feel of the exterior. The spa offers ten luxury treatment suites, including two large couples suites.
Guests are guided along a journey of physical and spiritual wellness at Iridium Spa with a variety of signature and extraordinary experiences to release tension, pain, and anxiety and restore vitality and balance. Upon checking in, each guest is afforded their own personal treatment suite with a private shower and bathtub where they can also enjoy private tea service. The spa journey at Iridium Spa begins with a trip to the Experience Showers with Chromatherapy. These signature showers include multiple showerheads to target each meridian point on the body with a customized combination of water temperature and pressure. Colored lights are added for additional relaxation and relief.
The Aromatherapy Inhalation Chamber is a warm, humid environment infused with essential oils and herbal essences to detoxify and alleviate respiratory ailments. A few minutes inside the Inhalation Chamber helps enhances the effectiveness of many treatments and additional experiences. The Mineral Salt Chamber takes detoxifying a step further in a steam zone that is infused with gentle, restorative cleansing properties of salt crystals from the Himalayas that remineralize the body and alleviate respiratory symptoms.
Complete or continue your journey in the Crystal and Ice Grotto, an extraordinary sparkling, invigorating environment that utilizes cold temperatures and crystal to improve circulation and strengthen immunity. Iridium Spa Signature Treatments
Iridium Spa offers an extensive suite of sublime, locally inspired services grounded in traditional Chinese healing techniques that combine aromatherapy with massage for a total sensory experience. The Aromatic Massage utilizes Swedish and neuromuscular massage techniques to release tension in every part of the body. For a thoroughly traditional experience, the Tui Na Massage uses finger pressure to release blockages along the body’s energy pathways, restoring balance and stimulating vitality and energy. Or, experience the ancient healing benefits of Chinese Foot Reflexology, a therapy to alleviate stress and strengthen circulation through stimulating reflex zones on the soles of the feet.
Rollersage, exclusive to Starwood hotels and resorts, is a signature experience that utilizes the metaphysical and healing properties of semi-precious stones along with traditional, Swedish massage techniques.
