Whether it’s a rising soufflé, a long-planned vacation or finding true love, the best things in life are worth waiting for.

But now, bliss junkies around the world can stop watching the calendar and start packing their bags. The spectacular Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Milano — almost 10 years in the making — has just opened its doors, revealing a luxurious world where time stands still.

Here, under the vaulted ceilings of a former convent, the past meets the future with a combination of awe-inspiring 200-year-old architecture and ahhh-inspiring innovations in skincare and body treatments. The visionary behind the historical renovation is world-renowned designer Patricia Urquiola, who kept the bones of the 19th-century structure intact but brought in indigenous woods and stones to create a modern environment of warmth.

Wash your stress away in the Turkish bath, then head into one of the seven treatment rooms for Samadara, an anti-aging ritual that uses Ayurvedic principles to restore the skin’s energy. Or, head to the Spa’s fitness facility for a cutting-edge workout featuring the latest equipment from Technogym.

So don’t wait another second! It’s finally time to feel refreshed and renewed at the Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Milano.

The spa

- 800-square-metre (8,611-square-foot) urban spa designed by Patricia Urquiola

- Reception, retail space and waiting room

- Seven treatment rooms, including four massage rooms, a manicure/pedicure or massage room, a
wet-treatment room and a VIP couples’ suite

- 14-metre by 3.5-metre (46-foot by 11-foot) lap pool under original brick ceiling

- 160-square-metre (1,722-square-foot) fitness facility located on the lower level, featuring state of-the-art equipment from Technogym’s Excite line, a dedicated stretching area with stretching machines, circuit training from Arkè, a weight-lifting area, and a Kinesis Personal Heritage system with an accompanying video for self-instruction
