Savor Borgata Restaurant Week kicks-off Sunday, November 4th leading into a weekend of events with Borgata’s celebrity chefs

On Saturday, November 10, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa will present SAVOR BORGATA – An Evening with Borgata’s Culinary Masters at The Borgata Event Center, featuring the restaurants and chefs that have positioned Borgata as the leading culinary destination on the East Coast.

This year, each restaurant will be represented with their own culinary station, offering guests the exclusive opportunity to interact with Bobby Flay (Bobby Flay Steak), Stephen Kalt (Fornelletto Cucina & Wine Bar), Michael Mina (SeaBlue, A Michael Mina Restaurant), Michael Schulson (Izakaya, A Modern Japanese Pub), Wolfgang Puck (Wolfgang Puck American Grille), Geoffrey Zakarian (The Water Club), restaurateurs Greg and Marc Sherry (Old Homestead Steak House), and Borgata’s Executive Pastry Chef, Thaddeus DuBois, while sampling each chef’s unique approach to the culinary arts. The event – hosted by culinary MC Billy Harris – will offer a variety of wine, beer, and spirits from across the globe.

“We are so excited to be celebrating the fifth year of Savor Borgata,” said Joe Lupo, Senior Vice President of Operations for Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa. “Since its inception, Borgata has been committed to providing the market with innovative dining experiences and Savor Borgata is a great example of that commitment. It’s a rare opportunity to mix and mingle with some of the world’s most celebrated chefs, and even more so to do it all in one night! This year, we’re thrilled to expand Savor into a complete program of events that includes interactive cooking demos, tastings, and specially priced restaurant menus all week leading up to the main event.”

For the first time in Savor’s history, Borgata will present a program of unique events that celebrates the individual talent of each participating chef. On Friday, November 9, The Water Club’s Culinary Lifestyle Consultant, Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian, will kick-off Savor Borgata Weekend with “Absolutely Fabulous” in The Sunroom lounge of the hotel. An intimate group of foodies and fans-alike will enjoy a four-course tasting of Zakarian’s small bites, designed exclusively for The Water Club, paired with Absolut cocktails. Later that evening, Philadelphia-foodie favorite, Michael Schulson, will host “Sushi & Sake with Schulson” at his first restaurant endeavor, Izakaya Modern Japanese Pub, where he will demonstrate just how easy sushi-making can be in an interactive, yet intimate setting.

On Saturday, November 10, two of the world’s most celebrated chefs will bring the kitchen to the stage during “Live with Bobby Flay” and “In the Kitchen with Wolfgang Puck” at Borgata’s Music Box theater. Attendees will watch as these renowned chefs share the tips and techniques behind some of their favorite recipes. On the same day, Fornelletto Cucina & Wine Bar’s Chef/Partner, Stephen Kalt, will host “Mad About Meatballs” inside the restaurant’s kitchen, where he will share his expertise on the quintessential Italian-American favorite. Down the hall, former White House Executive Pastry Chef, Thaddeus DuBois – who currently oversees the pastry production for both the AAA Four-Diamond Borgata and Water Club hotels – will celebrate his sweet tooth at “Sweet Surrender” with a lesson on how to perfect the pastry world’s hottest new trend: cake p ops!

Borgata will also present a trio of Savor tasting events for guests to pick their poison between whiskey, tequila, and wine seminars across property on Saturday. Whiskey connoisseurs can begin their afternoon with Jack Daniel’s Brand Ambassador, Ana Kornegay, as she leads them through the Jack family of brands at “Whiskey Sips & Sliders at Long Bar”. Paired with a variety of sliders that showcase Jack’s mouth-watering barbecue recipes, Kornegay will teach guests how to use all of their senses to discover the distinctive character that’s been an American favorite for more than a century. “Tequila & Tacos at Gypsy Bar” invites guests looking to “seize the night and discover something new, something different, and something unknown” to join Espolón Tequila at Borgata’s rock n’ roll tequila bar, where the brand’s Master Distiller will explore the ingredients behind this 100% Blue Agave premium tequila, accompanied by four mouth-watering tacos. And last, but not least, oenophiles are invited to take their taste buds on a journey through Francis Ford Coppola’s winery with its Director of Winemaking and General Manager, Corey Beck, at Borgata’s signature hotel, The Water Club.

Back by popular demand, Savor Borgata Restaurant Week will return for the second year, starting Sunday, November 4 through Friday, November 9. With a collection of restaurants that offer everything from regional Italian and upscale steak house to acclaimed seafood and modern Japanese fare all under one roof, Borgata presents guests with a one-of-a-kind culinary experience complete with an extensive wine collection of over 40,000 vintages. Throughout the week, Borgata will offer three-course tasting menus, starting from $39, at Wolfgang Puck American Grille, Seablue – A Michael Mina Restaurant, Fornelletto Cucina & Wine Bar, Izakaya – A Modern Japanese Pub, Bobby Flay Steak, and Old Homestead Steak House.

Tickets for Savor Borgata, priced at $125 per person, are on sale now. For those interested in a more intimate Savor Borgata experience, Borgata is offering a VIP ticket (priced at $195) that includes early admission to the event among a limited crowd.
