The Board of Directors of Sun Resorts Limited has nominated Mr. Philippe Cassis as Chief Executive Officer Designate of the company, as from 17th September 2013. As from 1st January 2014, Philippe Cassis will act as Chief Executive Officer of Sun Resorts Limited, in replacement of Mr. Fabio Piccirillo, who will remain at the service of the company as Advisor until 30th June 2014, date of his retirement.

Fabio has helped the Board of Directors to find a successor and he will gladly extend his support during a few months before the new CEO takes over. I am fully confident that the talented team of Sun Resorts Limited, our shareholders and our country at large will benefit from Philippe Cassis’s experience within an important international hospitality group,” says Arnaud Dalais, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sun Resorts Limited.
Fabio Piccirillo had been nominated Chief Executive Officer of Sun Resorts Limited in April 2007 and elected on the Board of Directors at the same period. “After nearly forty years spent in the hospitality sector, I felt it was time for me to take retirement. For the past eleven years, it has been a pleasure for me to do my best to support the development of Sun Resorts and its hotels in Mauritius and the Maldives. I will give all my support to the CEO Designate until he takes tenure and I feel honoured to be able to continue helping the company as Adviser,” declares Fabio Piccirillo.
Philippe Cassis, whose nomination is subject to approval being obtained by all regulatory bodies, is an experienced hotelier, presently based in Brazil, where he is Senior Vice President, Operations & Global Initiatives, of Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Latin America. Aged 51, German national Philippe Cassis joined Starwood Hotels & Resorts in 1985 and has occupied various important posts for this major international group. For instance, he has been Regional Director for Spain and Portugal; and Regional Director of Operations for the Africa and Middle East region. Polyglot and a man of many cultures, he holds a Diploma from the prestigious Swiss hospitality training school, Glion Institute of Higher Education.
