Schultenover has more than 30 years of hospitality industry experience and for the last nine years has served as president of ALHI competitor Krisam Group. Prior to that, he was chief marketing officer for Ian Schrager Hotels. He will join ALHI effective Oct. 15 and succeeds current President and CEO David Gabri in the role of president. Gabri, meanwhile, will continue in the role of CEO.

“We are so proud to have Jim joining our ALHI team,” Gabri said in a statement. “We’ve experienced significant growth over the years and know this is the ideal time to strategically expand our executive leadership team, including the addition of a president, simultaneously as we made other divisional organizational adjustments internally to prepare for our future. Jim is the ideal executive for the job, as he has tremendous and extensive experience.”

In their new roles, Gabri will focus on long-term strategic growth while Schultenover will oversee day-to-day operations.

“With Jim assuming day-to-day operation responsibilities it will provide to me more time and opportunity to focus on the ‘big picture’ for ALHI, our members and accounts we serve as we continue to build ALHI’s future,” Gabri continued. “It is an exciting time for all of us at ALHI, and I really look forward to working closely with Jim to lead our incredible ALHI team in serving our valued customers and members.”

ALHI, which provides sales and marketing services to luxury hotels and resorts, currently has more than 160 members and 19 professionally staffed global sales offices.

Concluded Schultenover, “I am so very proud to join such an outstanding and respected organization as ALHI. It is the market leader, with an incredibly successful record and stellar reputation for serving its distinguished member hotels and resorts, and its many valued clients. I really look forward to working with and leading the team with Dave to help guide ALHI to even greater heights in the future.”
