Dutch Docklands is currently working on a project of a floating 5-star hotel in Norway in one of the most beautiful natural surroundings on earth. The design is based on an icecrystal which blends-in naturally with the "winter environment" between the most beautiful fjords. The hotel with a diameter of 120 meter will have 86 rooms, conference rooms, spa & wellness facilities and is completely self supporting and self-sustainable.
Master development on water Many centuries of fighting against the water in the Netherlands has taught us all we need to know about controlling our wet environment. We have changed our mindset from fighting against the water into living with the water by using the existing technology in completely new ways.
Dynamic, environmentally friendly and recyclable Dutch Docklands works preferably together with Governments in a Public-Private-Partnership in order to share the opportunity of creating new potential building space ON the water. In this way we form solid longterm partnerships and contribute to the overall economic prosperity and urban development of the country. We differentiate ourselves with our unique proposition of a 'scarless' development that moves the context of a static city to one that is dynamic, environmentally friendly and recyclable.
Founders - Based on hundreds of years of experience Paul H.T.M. van de Camp and Koen Olthuis MSc shared their vision of changing their mindset of fighting against the water into living with the water. Together they established in 2005 Dutch Docklands, a new innovative company in a new global market that they have created themselves, based on hundreds of years of experience in the Netherlands in working with the water. Their vision has become worldwide recognized by media like CNN, Timemagazine and Terra Eco (Koen voted as one of the 100 green persons who will change the world in 2011).
