In addition to an expansive pool area opened last summer, the hotel has now elevated its focus on the great Mediterranean open-air season with the launch of a beach club. Located steps away from the hotel, Mulini Beach is open daily, offering light bites, cocktails, sunbeds and sounds.
The Designer BeachDesigned by Croatian architects 3LHD – also responsible for the architecture of the hotel – Mulini Beach was constructed out of white concrete and natural stone, ensuring that it blends seamlessly into its surroundings. As the first man-made beach in Rovinj, the design firm adhered to a strong mandate to create an area that was in harmony with the area’s natural coastal beauty. Several sunbathing spaces and a promenade designed to look like a natural rock formation are dotted by Mediterranean vegetation, blending with the bordering Cape Horne Forest.
Being sure to bring elements of the hotel’s design to the newly added beach, Zagreb-based designer Lana Cavar imparted the same sleek and streamlined visual identity. Minimalist white sun loungers speckle the white stone with stained wood providing an organic aesthetic. The hotel’s commitment to its Croatian ties continue with textiles and staff uniforms designed by the talented duo of I-GLE, the same team responsible for the fiber arts seen throughout the 248-room property.
Croatian SensationGuests of Hotel Lone will be able to enjoy exclusive access to the new beach from 10am to 11pm daily. Mulini Beach Bar boasts 50 al fresco seats with the bar’s pavilion design topped by a steel pergola, whose final shape is determined by the movement of the sun through the summer months. A menu punctuated by Croatian and Mediterranean flavors is served alongside a list of creative cocktails and refreshments. Staying true to regional specialties, tramezzini sandwiches, salads and chilled jars filled with chickpea puree, parsley salad with bulgur and lemon-eggplant crème will satiate beachgoers looking for lighter fare.
The HotelHotel Lone is the first Croatian member of Design Hotels and opened in summer 2011 in Rovinj, on the Istrian Peninsula. The 236 rooms and 12 suites gracefully bend away from the coastline in a distinctive Y-shape, offering views of the island-speckled coast and expansive Zlatni rt park. Three restaurants, three bars and a night club offer-up various culinary and late night adventures. With its Mediterranean wellness center, three outdoor pools, an auditorium for 600 guests and nine further conference rooms with the most recent technology, the hotel is the perfect choice for holidays and destination events.
