Under the new leadership of Verena Lasvigne, Senior Spa Director for the European region for Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts, who worked for seven years at Four Seasons Georges V Paris, Le Spa at Four Seasons Resort Marrakech masterminds remarkable changes: a redesign of its treatment rooms and Spa Pavilion, and an expansion of its range of rituals that put aromatic herbs in the heart of its holistic approach to well being.
Redesigned by Marc Vanden Bossche, Le Spa has brightened with many traditional Moroccan touches. Nestled in the lush gardens of the Resort, soothed by birdsong and flowing water fountains, Le Spa offers a bright lobby decorated with an iconic art work: a monumental chandelier that assembles a cascade of thirty water drop-shaped light pendants, carved into maillechort.
The 15 treatment rooms lit by natural light have all been enhanced with a bright and elegant blue colour. Intimate, cozy, decorated with sconces painted with gold leaf and arabesque carvings on the furniture, each of these cabins open onto a private terrace enclosed by a green wall where lavender, rosemary, mint, sage, myrtle or other aromatic plants flourish, as each space is named for the abundance of the organic Spa garden.
The signature treatment Four Seasons Massage of Morocco is a uniquely designed head to toe treatment, aimed at relaxing the body and mind, creating a feeling of total well being. This treatment features the aromatic herbs that grow in the Resort's organic garden such as rosemary, mint, lavender and verbena, chosen for their specific properties and their healing qualities, to rejuvenate, harmonize or relax the body and mind.
It begins with a foot bath with sea salts and orange flower enriched with deliciously scented essential oils. The foot scrub is followed by a foot massage that removes all fatigue. Then, depending on whether a guest wants to relax or re-energize, an essential oil is chosen to accompany the massage, providing a scent in the treatment room and is beneficial inhalations. The body massage incorporates traditional, ancient Asian techniques, shiatsu and acupressure from Thailand and Indonesia, deep flowing massage movements, gentle stretching, acupressure points and meridian line balancing. The treatment is followed by a head massage and a facial massage using deep gestures to release facial tension and retrieve vitality and youth.
