PHUKET, THAILAND–The Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort, Thailand, was voted the fourth best resort for families in Thailand in the 2015 TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards.
Two other Outrigger Resorts were awarded too. The Outrigger on the Lagoon.Fiji, was voted by travellers to be the number one Fiji resort for families and the fourth best hotel in Fiji overall.
Sister property Castaway Island Fiji was named third for families for Fiji and seventh hotel in Fiji overall.
The awards were announced on 22 January as a result of millions of travellers voting in the annual TripAdvisor Awards, which rate properties around the world.

In the awards, guests who voted for the Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort complemented factors such as friendly and attentive service, kids’ activities at the Koh Kids Club, the freeform swimming pool with water slide, comfortable rooms facing the sea or lagoon, and spacious club rooms with club benefits.
At Outrigger Laguna Phuket Beach Resort the Koh Kids Club offers a weekly program of activities to engage children while their parents make the most of the extensive resort facilities including golfing and tennis.
Outrigger on the Lagoon, Fiji General Manager Peter Hopgood said that the resort's Meimei nanny service and extensive Kids Club programs combined with purpose-built adult only zones made the resort a haven for families.
"We offer a daily calendar of cultural, educational, sporting and entertainment activities with a focus on Fijian cultural values. This, in conjunction with the natural charm of our hosts, is what families absolutely love," said Hopgood.
Castaway Island General Manager Steven Andrews believes the formula for families stems from the Fijians’ legendary love of children.
"The staff of the Castaway Kids Club completely engage with children through activities including a coconut hunt, sandcastle making, three legged races, Fijian dancing, broom making, coconut toffee making, tug of war, and in the evenings, a torch lighting ceremony, nature walk and beach bonfire.
"Our teenagers program includes beach volleyball and cricket, dolphin safari, underwater treasure hunt, guided snorkelling, an iron-man race, a guided paddle to the Secret Beach and around the island, touch footy as well as night activities which include the island’s famous frog race," he said.
