In November 2015, Design Hotels joined forces with Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG), enabling its member hotels to have both a greater and more selective reach while at the same time offering its Community the benefits of the industry’s leading loyalty program. For SPG members, this partnership means access to original experiences in one-of-a-kind hotels around the world, and new destinations to choose from. Since November 2015, 32 of over 290 Design Hotels member hotels have joined SPG. The coming weeks will see more than 30 additional hotels in the SPG pipeline go live, with many more set to join.

As of March 1, 2016, the second phase of the partnership between Design Hotels and SPG kicks-off, allowing SPG members to not only earn Starpoints on every stay, but to also redeem them at participating Design Hotels member hotels.

Design Hotels has long been in the business of creating lasting memories, and this expanded partnership with the industry’s most powerful loyalty program has made making these memories more rewarding.

More than 30 Design Hotels are now bookable through SPG.com, the SPG mobile app, and a global network of Customer Contact Centers.

Each month, additional Design Hotels properties will be joining SPG, granting members access to the following benefits at all participating Design Hotels properties:

• 2 Starpoints per eligible US dollar spent (3 for Gold Preferred and Platinum Preferred Members)
• Night and stay credit toward elite status
• On-property benefits of internet access and bottled water
• Gold Preferred and Platinum Preferred Members will automatically receive a Starpoints bonus as welcome gift.
• Room upgrades and late check-out (subject to availability at check-in and prioritized by membership level).

Redeemable as of March 1, 2016, these esteemed SPG Starpoints bring with them increased access, value, and travel destinations. Original Experiences Around the World

Celebrating the spirit of this collaboration, March 2 saw the global kick-off at a cocktail party in London. Senior leadership teams from Design Hotels and Starwood Hotels & Resorts, SPG; Originals, media, leading-opinion makers, and industry heavyweights came together to mark the milestone occasion. An immersive introduction to the partnership was presented through the presentation of short films, which emotionally capture the essence of Original Experiences – the intangible ‘thing’ you take with you long after check-out. Viewers were transported to a private desert island off the coast of Portugal at Vila Monte, an intimate jazz set at Gramercy Park Hotel in New York, a silent dinner in the Umbrian hillside at Eremito, and beyond.
