Samsung Electronics America, Inc., a global leader in hospitality solutions, introduced its new hospitality TVs featuring the world’s first built-in DOCSIS 3.0 modem, elevating the in-room experience for all guests. The SMART TV technology works with any existing hotel infrastructure, providing over-the-top (OTT) content offerings for guests and operational content management control for hotel staff.

The new 40- and 50-inch Samsung ND694 TVs allow hoteliers to easily upgrade the guest experience, as the DOCSIS 3.0 modem is built into the TV to enable SMART TV functionality using the existing coax infrastructure found in most hotels today. Until now, SMART TV integration required hotels to shut down rooms for dedicated IP/Ethernet rewiring. This new solution allows properties to offer SMART TV capabilities with minimal financial impact.

Samsung ND694 TVs enable guests to enjoy their favorite OTT channels and provide access to apps and screen mirroring functionality for displaying content from their personal mobile device(s). Hotels can also gain control of tasks such as check in, check out, and room adjustments through the SMART TV platform. The new all-in-one solution eliminates the need for a set top box and middle wear expenses, bringing the price point down for hoteliers.

“Our new lineup of Samsung TVs is transforming the hospitality industry with a cost-efficient and easy to install solution that upgrades the guest experience,” said Jonas Tanenbaum, Vice President of Samsung’s Hospitality TV Division. “The SMART TVs give guests access to the same entertainment and content they have come to expect at home, right in their hotel room, to drive greater satisfaction and loyalty.”

The TVs also include a LAN-OUT feature to allow for additional connection with up to four IP devices, so guests can seamlessly connect with any of their compatible devices.

The Samsung ND694 TVs are available now and priced at $679 for the 40-inch model and $829 for the 50-inch model. The new lineup will be showcased in booth #759 at HITEC from June 21–23 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA.
