Following a 16-year long career with Four Seasons, Wietzel makes the move from his most recent post as Regional Vice President and General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Maui at Wailea in Hawaii to Europe to oversee his new region from the iconic Parisian hotel.

After a Master of Business Administration in International Hotel Management in France at IMHI (Cornell University - ESSEC) and an international career, Wietzel joined the Four Seasons family in 2002 as the Hotel Manager at Four Seasons Hotel New York. He soon was appointed to the same position at Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris, where he gained the respect and care of the 600 talents working at the Hotel, offering the most unique experiences to Hotel guests during his four year tenure.

In 2007, Jean Claude was promoted to General Manager at Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh, followed by Four Seasons Resort Marrakech where he served as the opening General Manager. He then embraced the alohaspirit when he joined Four Seasons Resort Maui, a 380-room resort, where he managed a staff of more than 900 employees and built a strong commitment to the local community. He has also completed with his team a floor-to-ceiling transformation of the Resort's guest rooms and suites, along with numerous enhancements in the public areas. He was promoted to Regional Vice President in 2017 before coming back to Paris and his beloved George V, where the enthusiastic staff warmly welcomed him back after 11 years.

During those 16 significant years within Four Seasons, the four years I spent at Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris truly filled me with unforgettable memories. This Hotel strikes me with its perfect combination of the highest refinement and a rare human signature. I have to admit I always cherished the idea that I might one day come back to this iconic Palace I call home, says Wietzel.

The legendary Hotel, which celebrates its 90 year anniversary in 2018, features 244 rooms, suites and a collection of private apartments boasting spectacular views of the City of Light and Eiffel Tower. The Hotel paved the way to culinary excellence in 2017, earning 5 Michelin stars across its three restaurants - an unprecedented achievement among European Palace hotels. Jean Claude Wietzel will now be piloting exciting additions to the Hotel, such as the reveal of two new ballrooms filled with natural light, a new marble courtyard or the highly anticipated new Spa opening in June 2018.

Today, I truly aim to consolidate the quality of our product and services, fusing together the best of Four Seasons culture with local team's talent. This Hotel’s success is deeply linked to an exceptional culture of the product, outstanding craftsmanship in all services, and, above all, to a passionate and generous team of talents. Together, we’ll keep writing the iconic history of this legendary Palace and bring it to new heights,Wietzel concludes.
