The long-awaited first phase of the multi-million dollar enhancement project will be completed on December 10, 2018, unveiling a fresh take on a timeless Caribbean experience that includes completely redesigned guest rooms, an updated Great House lobby and two brand new restaurants. Additionally, the spirited and soulful haven will be offering a variety of island-style celebrations – from the serene to the adventurous – to make the holidays memorable for guests of all ages.

“We are thrilled to welcome visitors from around the world to our contemporary new take on Caribbean luxury,” says General Manager, Gonzalo Güelman Ros. “With unique Nevisian warmth and evocative design, our new Resort experience is the perfect place to spend a memorable holiday full of love, laughter and cherished moments with family and friends.”

Guest Rooms and Suites

The 189 guest rooms and suites feature a lighter, cleaner and fresher décor, with light-drenched spaces that give off a sense of comfort and the ultimate feeling of being completely relaxed. Design details reference a chic, fashionable and stylised voice of the Caribbean spirit and soul; the new wall covers reference the British botanical patterns favoured by the rich fabrics of 19th century England, but rendered in a fashionably contemporary pale sea-foam green that recalls the island’s frothy shoreline; the multi-coloured geometric carpet is inspired by the legacy of Caribbean stained glass windows; and the desk chairs are inspired by the flora and fauna of Nevis, with particular affection for the green vervet monkeys that are iconic ambassadors of the island.

Lobby

The redesigned Great House features inviting open-air gathering spaces that exude a see-and-be-seen resort vibe. The new lobby, like the accommodations, incorporates classic elements of the traditional Nevisian aesthetic, modernised with a bright and breezy décor for a 21st century Resort experience.

Culinary Concepts

The Resort’s new restaurant and bar– EsQuilina and Crowned Monkey Rhum Bar –introduce striking spaces highlighted by a combination of natural colours, rich elements and island-inspired art that pair perfectly with innovative menus featuring fresh, seasonal and locally-sourced cuisine.

EsQuilina: EsQuilina is the heartbeat of the Resort, offering a bustling and interactive breakfast buffet with a vibrant presentation of sliced local fruit, house-made granola and organic yogurts. A fresh pressed juice and smoothie bar also features locally grown jackfruit, soursop, dragon fruit, mango and guava, among other fresh fruits and vegetables.

In the evenings, EsQuilina serves a Mediterranean-inspired menu, spanning influences from coastal Mediterranean to the Caribbean. A giant crudo bar with raw seafood and charcuterie, fresh fish grilled in a wood fire and more regional delights take diners on a culinary journey that is rich in history and culture as well as tastes and flavours. The restaurant also features a Chef’s Table allowing for an interactive and intimate dinner with the chefs, giving guests a more personal dining experience.

Crowned Monkey Rhum Bar: Taking its name from the island's mischievous yet lovable green vervet monkeys, Crowned Monkey Rhum Bar boasts the finest rums and spirits from around the world to highlight the history of a former bustling sugar trade and the passion for rum that is synonymous with the destination, along with creating an atmosphere that breathes new life into rum aficionados.

During the day, guests can enjoy a comfortable, luxurious space to eat, drink, relax, socialise and work outside of their guest room. The space is also opened up to the refreshed lobby, creating a more social and interactive experience.

Festive Experiences

Along with its new look, the Resort has also planned a variety of activities and experiences for guests during the festive season. Whether their first time at the oceanfront oasis or returning to continue their family tradition, holiday travellers can enjoy fun-filled programs and carefree experiences, from in-the-spirit culinary options, including special menus at all Resort restaurants, nightly activities such as Rosé and Beer on the Pier and the returning favourite “Taste of Nevis” dining experience, to a wide range of activities on land and sea, including an endless array of watersports, golf and tennis clinics and, of course, family fun with family water-a-tha-lon and lantern releases at Kids for All Seasons, just to name a few.
