Wine Spectator Awards recognise restaurants whose wine lists offer-interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine enthusiasts. Thorough research is carried out on the latest trends and most popular selections every year, which help Anantara to update the wine list ensuring variety of new and old world wines.

The prestigious Wine Spectator Best Award of Excellence recognises destinations for serious wine aficionados. Showing a deep commitment in terms of cellar selection, service offering and superior presentation. These wine lists feature 350 or more labels that display excellent breadth across multiple winegrowing regions from top producers.

In Thailand, Biscotti at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel exudes fine dining with an array of palate pleasing wines, tantalising enough that they received the Best Award of Excellence. In Portugal, Anantara Vilamoura Algarve Resort’s standout restaurant Emo’s personality is discovered through its extensive wine cellar, which boasts 350 expertly selected wines for a truly memorable dining experiences earning it the Best Award of Excellence.

The coveted Wine Spectator Award of Excellence is granted to wine lists which satisfy discerning wine lovers with at least ninety selections, comprising a well-chosen assortment of quality producers, along with a thematic match to the menu in price and style.

An impressive six restaurants at Anantara resorts in Thailand, have been presented with a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence including, Dee Plee at Anantara Layan Phuket Resort, Sea. Fire.Salt at Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas, Tree Tops Sky Dining at Anantara Lawana Resort Samui, Full Moon at Anantara Bophut Koh Samui Resort, The Restaurant at Anantara Chiang Mai Resort and Madison Restaurant at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel.

In Bali, Moonlite Kitchen & Bar at Anantara Seminyak Bali Resort was recognised for its contemporary Asian cuisine and premium wine list of over 100 labels. Along Sri Lanka’s Southern Coast, at Anantara Peace Haven Tangalle Resort, Il Mare restaurant serves delectable Italian cuisine with exquisite wine pairings on a cliff edge with astonishing Indian Ocean Views and Acquolina at Anantara Kalutara Resort guarantees a memorable visit with its wine cellar dining experience. In Oman, Al Baleed Resort Salalah by Anantara has two award winning restaurants. Al Mina perfectly captures the vibrant Mediterranean vibe in a relaxed ambience and Mekong takes guests on a culinary voyage of discovery through Thailand, China and Vietnam. Each were awarded an Award of Excellence.

In the UAE, a further six restaurants have been honoured with a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Anantara The Palm Dubai Resort scooped three in total for Australian grill Bushman’s Restaurant Bar, Mediterranean restaurant The Beach House, and speciality Asian dining venue Mekong. While at the Desert Island Resort & Spa by Anantara, seafood specialities at Amwaj are enjoyed with an Arabian Sea view, and sumptuous dishes at Savannah Grill at Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Al Sahel Villa Resort are served in the heart of the Arabian wildlife park, each with a generous global wine selection. Olio at Anantara Al Yamm Villa Resort serves delicious Italian cuisine that pairs perfectly with a broad and interesting selection of wines from around the world.

In the Maldives, four restaurants were awarded a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence. Origami at Anantara Veli Maldives Resort enables guests to indulge in 360 labels, perfect for wine aficionados and fine diners who are looking for extraordinary gastronomy with a surreal panorama of tropical marine life. Sea.Fire.Salt at Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort serves freshly caught seafood favourites paired with an impressive wine list. Sister properties Niyama Private Islands Maldives and Naladhu Private Island Maldives also serve superb food and beverage menus at Tribal and Edge restaurants as well as The Living Room.
