With the season to be jolly fast approaching, The Anam will celebrate with an array of experiences ranging from lighting up a huge Christmas tree amid a choir performance and airing festive movies at an outdoor cinema, to cocktail parties and spa classes.

Five-course dinners on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve, kid’s activities including decorating gingerbread and spa packages are among the five-star resort’s festivities from Dec. 23. until Jan 3.

To end what has been a tumultuous year on a more sanguine note, we’ll be spreading plenty of jolly good cheer at the Anam,” said the resort’s founder Pham Van Hien. “There will be something for everyone ranging from the indulgent and sparkling to the culturally-enriching and relaxing.”

The resort’s program kicks off on Dec. 23 with a vernissage, with complimentary drinks and cookies, from 11am-4pm for a special art exhibition by talented local artists at Au Lac Ballroom. The ballroom will showcase the artwork throughout the festive season program.

A traditional Christmas tree lighting ceremony will be staged from 6-6:30pm at the resort's open-air lobby. Cookies and mulled wine will be served as a Christmas choir performs carols.

To celebrate Christmas Eve, executive assistant manager Ye Chang Sheng (Peter) and his team will host a cocktail party at the lobby for guests from 6-7pm around the Christmas tree as the choir again performs. The resort’s culinary team will offer treats made in-house such as panettones and honey-glazed ham.

From 7.30pm the Indochine Restaurant will unveil an exquisite five-course menu that includes pan-fried Hokkaido scallops, celeriac puree, green apple salad, hazelnut and chive oil, turkey tortellini with clear turkey consommé, and black Angus beef tenderloin with pan-fried foie gras, butter glazed heirloom carrot and truffle.

The Kid’s Club will host activities throughout the season, from making Christmas ornaments and decorating gingerbread to yoga for kids, bucket races and tug of war. Meanwhile, both the resort’s outdoor cinemas by the beach and indoor cinema will screen movies on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Eve.

The Anam Spa is also getting in on the festive spirit, offering a special Christmas spa menu dubbed “The Pamper Gifts”. Spa packages on offer are the 90-minute “Anam Balancing” comprising an aromatherapy treatment, foot acupressure, and head massage to stimulate circulation and reduce muscle tension, 100-minute “Oriental Ceremony” anchored by a Balinese stone massage, and 120-minute “Youth Intensive Journey” including a cinnamon and ginger body exfoliation and an anti-aging facial.

To equip guests with therapeutic skills they can take home with them to boost wellbeing, the spa is conducting complimentary, hour-long “spa festive classes” in the morning and afternoon. Conducted by the spa’s experienced therapists, each class focuses on a particular therapy from how to relieve sinus pain, upper back tension or headaches, to therapeutic massages for the scalp, foot, head and shoulders.

On the final day of 2020, the Kid’s Club will keep the children entertained with activities such as statue painting and paper hat-making, before the management team holds another cocktail party on the lawn adjacent to the open-air lobby from 6:30-7:30pm.

The Indochine will hold another delectable five-course dinner to celebrate New Year’s Eve. Highlights include poached asparagus with bacon béarnaise, crispy bacon, roasted hazelnut and freshly shaved pickled asparagus, chilled cucumber gazpacho with Lymington crab salad and pickled white radish and rack of lamb with confit potato, mushroom puree, buttered gazpacho bean and red wine jus.

Following the dinner, a countdown party will ring in 2021 at Lang Viet Restaurant and Bar, with a large selection of beverages available as DJs spin house tunes.

About The Anam Cam Ranh

The Anam overlooks 300 metres of beachfront on Vietnam’s scenic Cam Ranh peninsula, which averages more than 300 sunny days per year. With a design inspired by Vietnam’s bygone Indochine era, the luxurious five-star resort boasts 77 villas and 136 rooms and suites. The Anam also features a French-inspired fine dining restaurant, all-day dining restaurant, a Vietnamese restaurant and bar, a classical bar, a beach club, in-room dining, a 10 treatment-room spa, indoor and outdoor movie theatres, three capacious swimming pools, ballroom, conference rooms, recreation and fitness centre, a tennis court, yoga room and deck, kids club, putting green, gift shop and more. The Anam and its team are guided by a “Indochine Charm, Modern Luxury” approach to accommodation, blending colonial-era charm and warm-hearted Vietnamese service with modern comforts and convenience. The name “The Anam” is not a play on Adrian Zecha’s Aman Resorts; rather it refers to “An Nam”, the name of Central Vietnam during the French Indochina era.
