As the first international hotel brand in the Gangnam area of Seoul, the reopening marked a new standard set for a luxurious way of living.
Brian Harris, General Manager, Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas commented:2020 has definitely been a year of change for our hotel with the major renovation that we’ve done to commemorate the 30th anniversary of this hotel. With InterContinental Hotels & Resorts pioneering luxury travel across the globe since 1946, we will continue elevate the experience at Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas to deliver an unprecedented lifestyle choice in the capital of South Korea.”

Luxury design for functionality

The hotel worked with 1508 London, a British interior design group, on its new interiors and create a design narrative encompassing these themes, ‘Return to Nature’, ‘Balance’ and ‘Crafted Detailing’. For a distinctively luxurious atmosphere, the design also incorporated Korea’s unique lines and warm colours, creating harmony between materials for an exquisite finish.

All guestrooms at Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas are now fitted with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, and the hotel exterior has also been retrofitted with full-paneled glass. Apart from creating a modern and sophisticated aesthetic, the glass panels are reinforced by insulating bars for improved energy efficiency as part of the hotel’s green commitment towards IHG’s Green Engaged programme.

The Club InterContinental Lounge was previously located on the 26th floor and was moved to the hotel’s top floor at level 34 to provide an elevated club experience in its new location. With a new harmonised look and a grand golden canopy on the ground floor, the hotel aimed to become a design landmark with contemporary charm in the Gangnam area.

Luxurious amenities and suites for all needs

Grand InterContinental Seoul Parnas now welcomes guests with 16 types of 550 rooms that are tailored to various needs from the spacious Deluxe rooms, Junior Suite and luxurious top suites.

New room facilities include a minimum 55-inch LED UHD Smart TV regardless of the room type, all suites offer a clothing steriliser so guests can disinfect their clothes for ease of mind. 20 rooms are fitted with two queen beds to accommodate up to four guests due to increased recent leisure-seeking and family guests.

Located on 32nd floor of the hotel, its Presidential Suite offers a luxurious 303sqm over two floors, a 4-metre high ceiling, a separate treatment room where guests can enjoy a Technogym treadmill and a Finnish-style dry sauna with the comfort of privacy. Complementing the suite experience is a living room equipped with a 77-inch OLED UHD TV, an elegantly decorated study, and a dining room with a built-in wine cellar, a fridge, and a dining table that accommodates eight persons.
